Former President Donald Trump and Melania Trump often eat alone at a "roped-off table" in the center of a Mar-a-Lago patio restaurant when she is there, a forthcoming book by the journalist Michael Wolff says.

The Trumps are "looked at, somewhat, like zoo animals," Wolff wrote in an excerpt of the book "Landslide: The Final Days of the Trump Presidency" published by The Times of London.

"No, no, that's not right," he continued. "They are like a newly married couple: every night is a wedding at which they spend their dinner greeting friends and wellwishers."

I agree with you in part. I'm not a fan of Michael Wolff and he has had some of his information gathering methods questioned. And he leans toward sensational, tawdry topics. He's a tabloid-ish sensationalist. That said, he's never been shown to make shit up, and he always gets great access. Like, stupendous access.

And Trump knows this and has a loooooong history with Wolff in NYC. He wrote that early blockbuster in 2017, I think, and practically had an office in the White House. HIGHLY critical of Trump. Many scoops. Yet Trump is still giving him access, now at Mar-a-Lago. You have to ask yourself why. Maybe it's as simple as the old saying "bad publicity is better than no publicity"
