I'm not sure its so much meetings. But Mantafort failed to disclose he was getting PAID BY an enemy of the US. But more importantly, Mueller is going to have to show there was some conspiracy by Trump to hide the meetings in which his campaign received aid from an enemy of America to help win the election. If ultimately that is not there, then this will seem like a political vendetta ... and it is not. Trump fired Comey to shut it down.

Manafort, who obviously had a shady money-laundering history with connections in the Ukraine and Russia going back years, joined the Trump campaign in March 2016. He took OVER the campaign as campaign manager two months later in May 2016. Also working for the campaign was Michael Flynn who also had ties to Russia. As did Trump and his sons, I should add. Right around the time of the GOP convention, the platform wording was changed regarding providing defensive weapons to the Ukraine which was currently defending itself against insurgents who were being supplied and supported by the Russians in the aftermath of Russia annexing Crimea.
