Pet peeves...

People who use then for than and than for then...it amazes me the amount of otherwise intelligent folks who do so. Sometimes I have to fight my urge to edit a persons post who does that.

DO NOT show up on my doorstep unannounced unless you are my children or it's an emergency...I don't care if you are Jesus Christ himself...do not show up without either scheduling it with me or calling first. You will not only get turned away, I will be super pissed at you for a long while after that.

And don't lie to me, or about me, or about my family or closest friends. Sure, that is naturally something that most people get pissed off about, who wouldn't? But I am not most people...I can't just get over it and walk away. I will either prove that lie a lie or try like hell to.

Pedestrians who are eternally plugged into their iPod and, as such, are so engrossed by what they're listening to, the basic instinct of checking for oncoming traffic has been eroded. Honestly, I've lost count of how many times I've stood on the anchors after some fool who was distracted by their iPod has walked out into the road when I'm heading towards them in 3rd. I once got out of the car in such a rage and bellowed at this schoolgirl that she started to cry, but I just kept laying in to her.

Honestly, I've lost count of how many times I've stood on the anchors after some fool who was distracted by their iPod has walked out into the road when I'm heading towards them in 3rd. People who worship their smart phones and iPhones. I take a commuter train and it looks like a scene from a scifi movie where these devices are able to capture and hold your attention to the exclusion of the world around you -- we look like pod people.
