Rep. Cheney says it is 'it is absolutely clear that what President Trump was doing ... was unlawful'

No she is lying as usual since there was no insurrection and Trump never told anyone to break into the Capital building he actually told them right at the end of his speech to protest peacefully as they walk to the Capital building.

The FBI stated LAST YEAR that they didn't find any provable acts of sedition to report.

They were indicted for Assault and Obstruction charges and similar which I never disputed anywhere.

New charges say Proud Boys discussed plan to attack U.S. Capitol

"The charges added Tarrio to an existing indictment that accused other members of the far-right group of plotting to come to Washington with tactical gear so they could stage protests to disrupt the electoral vote count on Jan. 6. They were charged with being among the first to fight past the barricades around the Capitol and force their way into the building that day."

ZERO insurrection or sedition charges mentioned at all a reality that never seems to sink into your cavehead.

“That is the definition of an insurrection,” said Rep. Liz Cheney, the vice chair of the committee.

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol has enough evidence to refer former President Donald Trump for criminal charges, the vice chair of the panel, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), said Sunday.

“It’s absolutely clear that what President Trump was doing, what a number of people around him were doing, that they knew it was unlawful. They did it anyway,” Cheney told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.”

She was responding to a New York Times report asserting that the committee leaders were divided over whether to criminally refer Trump to the Justice Department, despite concluding they had enough evidence to do so on charges of obstructing a congressional proceeding conspiring to defraud the American people. The report cited people involved in the discussions.

According to Cheney, the committee has not yet decided on whether to make a referral.

If they have enough evidence - they should do it. What do you think?
One more in a long string of attempts to indict Trump that will end up going nowhere.

I have known about them for over a year whom I NEVER supported in the forum once.

It appears you need to see your Shrink to repair your long standing brain damage.

Yup your brain damage is verified since you offered ZERO counterpoints while I never disputed their guilt and accepted their indictment and prison time.

Still no Insurrection charges mentioned.

You once again come up empty with your bullshit.

From the OP:

She said that the evidence showed that those involved in planning the events of Jan. 6 “knew that they were going to attempt to use violence to stop the transfer of power.”

“That is the definition of an insurrection,” she said.

That is Cheney's definition and interpretation while the FBI and DOJ never make Insurrection charges.

The FBI after more than a year of investigation states there were no viable case for Insurrection says about 95% were just simple riot behavior such as Trespassing and Vandalism.

You don't even know what the word Insurrection means since there was no armed determination to overthrow a government
I suppose it's true insurrection doesn't exist as the government that people were trying to overthrow by force and seize its powers had not yet been constituted...

Insurrection means "a violent uprising by a group or movement acting for the specific purpose of overthrowing the constituted government and seizing its powers. An insurrection occurs where a movement acts to overthrow the constituted government and to take possession of its inherent powers." [Younis Bros. & Co. v. Cigna Worldwide Ins. Co., 899 F. Supp. 1385, 1392-1393 (E.D. Pa. 1995)]

Trump really should be worried about going to prison - because his base is shrinking and he won't have the White House to protect him.

Donald Trump has long equated crowd size with success ― reportedly even bragging of the size of the mob that attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in an attempt to block the certification of the election and keep him in power.

GOP strategist Susan Del Percio said Trump’s now falling short by that measure as his rally crowds shrink.

“That’s what you saw there,” she told MSNBC’s Cori Coffin one day after Trump addressed a surprisingly sparse crowd in Selma, North Carolina. “A very shrinking base.”

Local newspaper The News & Observer said Trump spoke to about 1,000-2,000 people― a far cry from the 15,000 that turned out for him at the same venue in 2016.

From your link:

"An insurrection occurs where a movement acts to overthrow the constituted government and to take possession of its inherent powers."

That never happened at all since just shortly afterwards Congress went back into the Capital building to finish their certification process the same day of the Riot.

Riot is a better description on what happened at the Capital according to Wikipedia:

A riot (/ˈraɪət/) is a form of civil disorder commonly characterized by a group lashing out in a violent public disturbance against authority, property, or people.

Riots typically involve destruction of property, public or private. The property targeted varies depending on the riot and the inclinations of those involved. Targets can include shops, cars, restaurants, state-owned institutions, and religious buildings.[1]

Riots often occur in reaction to a grievance or out of dissent. Historically, riots have occurred due to poverty, unemployment, poor living conditions, governmental oppression, taxation or conscription, conflicts between ethnic groups (race riot) or religions (sectarian violence, pogrom), the outcome of a sporting event (sports riot, football hooliganism) or frustration with legal channels through which to air grievances.[2]

While individuals may attempt to lead or control a riot, riots typically consist of disorganized groups that are frequently "chaotic and exhibit herd behavior."[1] There is a growing body of evidence to suggest that riots are not irrational, herd-like behavior (sometimes called mob mentality), but actually follow inverted social norms.[3]

They have it...but of course they won't. Even if they did, it would be tied up in legal wrangling long after the Democrats lose the House in November.
