Majority of Republicans do not see value in a higher education

I went to college. I learned to need a safe space. While I'm not an effective employee, I do consider everyone's feelings. Unless of course said feelings fail to be in-line with my college indoctrination, because those people should just die. Exception being those who are fat, black & LGBT. We let them slide cuz they're cute.
You are a woos, no wonder you are another failure who voted for Trump.

WTF is a woos?

Are you looking forward to moving up the high school in three years?
You are a woos.

I'm actually retired at a young age, yet I still solve problems daily. When I was an employee, all my co-workers were college educated. However, my formal education expands to the 4th grade, and go figure, I wrote for a living.

Not only did I write much better than my colleagues, but I was one of only two able to do a proper analysis. 10% of my time was spent reworking trash developed by the college educated. Another 20% of my time was entertaining liberal thoughts that always had the same results, which was busy-work and/or failure.

I am a word that does not exist?

You need to sue the college where you got that Master's for educational malpractice, because you are obviously still an idiot.

But Republican do put great faith in teaching myth, magic, and talking snakes. Old men that ride flying carpets through the sky and the magic Ginn.

In other words they are the part of the tribe who thinks the witch doctor is the all-knowing smartest person in the kingdom. You can't beat him when he throws the bones.

wo͞o/

3rd person present: woos
  1. try to gain the love of (someone, typically a woman), especially with a view to marriage.
"he wooed her with quotes from Shakespeare"

synonyms: seek, pursue, curry favor with, try to win, try to attract, try to cultivate
"the party wooed voters with promises"
I stated earlier that you're an educated idiot. By your use of "woos" incorrectly, you just proved my assertion.

Like I said: "If what you say about yourself is true..."

Nope, folks, it ain't true.

According to Pew research, By a steep 22-point margin, Republicans now believe American colleges and universities have a net negative effect on the country. In 2010

Most colleges and universities are nothing more than Liberal indoctrination mills. So of course they're detrimental to America. With their preponderance of Liberal/Socialist/Marxist professor and instructors they can not be anything less.

From '95 to 98 I attended a Liberal Arts (heavy on the "Liberal) college. Out of all of my professors, one PhD holder kept her political affiliation and beliefs to herself. She allowed divergent opinion to be discussed and debated in her classroom with retribution and/or retaliation.

I was fortunate to graduate in 2016 from a University that frowned on professors trying to teach their political beliefs. I didn't have a single professor that attempted to influence students in any way, shape, manner, or form to accept or refute any political party. All debate was strictly moderated so as ideas were shared without rancor. As a matter of fact there were a couple of professors that were released because they failed to abide by those standards.

So yes, there are some that actually try to teach instead of steering and molding students into a particular political ideology, be it Left or Right.

It's all about money, like everything else.

Colleges want to keep raising tuition prices, so what the government did was take over the loan business so that students could have lower interest rates so they can afford bigger, and bigger debt but there is a bubble here, cuz they can only lower interest rates so low. I reckon the next step will be to make college "free". In other words, they will just print more money because those in government stopped paying for things long ago. Now they just let inflation rob us blind instead. The government also passed draconian rules for paying off student debt that made student debt the hardest to get out of paying.

In return, those in academia sing the praises of a strong centralized government that runs everything. I had all left winged professors. It's a symbiotic relationship.

I have really gotten under your skin. Sorry about that; not really, I am not sorry at all. I am a truth teller.

Conservatives are forever stuck in reruns of Hee Haw. Books to conservatives are like garlic to vampires. Knowledge is viewed as 'obtained by eating of the tree of good and evil' and so must be shunned. Ignorance and stupidity are permanent parts of the Republican Party plank. For conservatives educated people are dumb and dumb people are smart. Science is a waste of money which could go to a tax cut for the wealthy who will then rain down pennies on the rest of the peasants. At conservative 'universities' you flunk out for getting the answers right.

That's right, it's all due to Putin's master plan.

Dims are no better.

They tried to push cap and trade, a policy that any scientist worth their salt says it does virtually nothing about global warming. And guess who was all set up to get insanely wealthy once the policy was implemented. You guessed it, Al Gore and company leading the charge.

The Paris agreement was also a joke. It does virtually nothing, yet Trump is being blamed for destroying the planet by pulling out?

An interesting side note, Trump built a flood wall around his golf coarse in Ireland where it has never flooded before.

Dims, if you want to do something constructive, support a viable alternative to fossil fuels that meets our needs, like nuclear power.

You don't like nuclear? The hell you say. That's why I don't really think you believe what you want us to believe.

Provide solutions, not just higher taxes and more government power, or get bent.

According to Pew research, By a steep 22-point margin, Republicans now believe American colleges and universities have a net negative effect on the country. In 2010, Republicans still said college was a good thing by a 26-point margin. So that’s a complete collapse in GOP support for higher education (self-identified Democrats and independents have always thought college is good by overwhelming, 40-point plus margins, and still do).
Trump represents the dumbing down of the USA

You make the case for why colleges are failing. Look at the shit-for-brains a lot of colleges are churning out.

As someone with a Master's Degree, I question how valuable higher education is today given the cost and the environment. First off, the cost has ballooned astronomically over the past 20 years primarily due to the government trying to "help" everyone go. I'm not so sure it's worth being saddled with tens of thousands of dollars in debt when there are plenty of professions out there where one can make a decent living without attending a four year university. Second, universities have become incredibly hostile to thoughts and opinions that don't meet the ideals of mainstream liberal dogma. When you turn on the television and see the events at Mizzou and Berkeley it's hardly any surprise parents would start to question paying an exorbitant amount of money to send their kids into that kind of environment.

I also find it interesting how the Democratic Party has gone from being the party of the blue collar worker to that of pandering to snobby elitists, as indicative by your own comments.

If you are an example of higher educations, they are probably right. Didn't you have to pass a reading comprehension test or take a course in basic logic? Believing (rightly) that many of our colleges and universities are little more than overpriced propaganda factories which produce political malcontents who do not contribute to our society in a constructive manner, this view does not portray a lack of value in higher education, nor does it represent a "dumbing down of the USA."
I went to college, I now have a net worth over 5 million dollars. I enjoy giving back to my community and nation for my good fortune.
College works if you work to make it work.
Too many Trump supporters don't want to work at obtaining the skills required in today's work force. Those skills can be obtained through higher education and trade schools.
You are not paying your fair share.

^^ THIS, is what represents dumbing down the USA.

CS or even math degree is not something many oppose. The Marxist pure brainwashing degrees on the other hand... the people come back dumber than they went in.

Of course, one problem is that universities have become leftist churches.

Honestly now, have you ever read a book cover to cover?

Chances are I am way more educated than you, dumbling.

Gender studies degree is useless, that's probably what you have to make such a clueless statement.

If your posts are any indication of your level of education, I surpassed you in 10th grade.
