March the busiest month for gun background checks in Vermont...thanks democrats for being truthful..

Imagine how many background checks would have been done if everybody was required to do them.

Criminals are already required to do them.....they just don't do them...that is why we call them criminals.....

No. Criminals are not required to do them. They can buy all the guns they want from individual sellers. That includes their friends and family who happen to be legal individual sellers.

Untrue, when they do that they are committing a FELONY, that is called a strawman sale and unsurprisingly they do it anyway.

Only if the cops can prove the seller was aware that the buyer is prohibited from buying the gun. Without any requirement for any identification, or any other information, and no requirement to report the attempted purchase by someone prohibited, even if the seller did know it, who is going to know? How is a seller who can reasonably claim he didn't know, going to be guilty of a straw purchase?

And that's where my suggestion of a free background check comes in. No registration, we just want to a background check on the person buying the gun. Why do you resist that?

Even you can't say it doesn't happen.

If it happens, it's already illegal. If you can't prove it's a significant issue in the trafficking of illegal guns then you're just proposing useless, onerous legislation to punish law-abiding gun owners.

That's the kind of reasoning that caused Southern racists to pass poll-tax and literacy test laws to stop black voters.

All of those laws ultimately deemed to be Unconstitutional.

You need to realize something ... you can't win this unless we stop fighting you. You can try passing all the annoying laws you want. They always get overturned and it gets Democrats voted out of office.

The more you push, the more intractable gun-owners become.

The cost, or lack there of, is a minor detail that can be worked out. You know the NRA isn't opposing universal background checks because of the cost.

The reason why the NRA won't support universal background checks is because there is no way to remove onesself from the banned list in a false positive situation. And of course the progressive demand for gun registration with every scheme.

Gun owners, with the guidance of NRA and their money, have been intractable for much too long. I don't know how much longer they can keep control of our law makers when well more than 90% of the country wants universal background checks, and is fed up with their crap

You know better than that. They refuse to give on anything. That is all the excuse they have, and all the excuse they think they need.

As does your side. Tell me one thing the progressives have EVER given up on anything. The progressive version of compromise is "our way or the highway".

Giving up 1.6 billion for Trump's folly, even though he is still screwing the dreamers is giving up a pretty good chunk.

Did you really think calling illegal immigrants ‘dreamers’ would make them more loveable?

The guy pictured is not a dreamer. There are requirements to be part of the dreamer program. You should educate yourself.
