Excellent....the GOP divide widens

Heh.. it's funny, because liberals are cheering this realignment, as though it will cripple the Republicans and leave the Democrats large and in charge - but it's effecting them too. Not all Democrats are corporatist authoritarians, and those who aren't are finding more and more reason to side with the libertarian factions currently causing trouble for the Republicans. It's looking more and more like we might end up with two parties that split along the authoritarian/libertarian divide more than they do along the traditional left/right issues.

The most promising aspect of this development is that it shows how little real difference there is between the parties. We see how they unite when a real threat to the status quo is introduced (the Snowden leaks, the libertarian upswing, etc...).
