Mike Lee (R) has just introduced a bill that would fine or imprison any American who posts “sexual content” of any kind on the internet

So you don't think a school board member telling a parent the school library book she is reading publicly is inappropriate for kids to read / hear, admitting schools are putting material kids shod not be exposed to, is a problem?

:auiqs.jpg:

Funny...you're an idiot but don't know it.

The whole book wasn't inappropriate, just the passage that she read. And, while it might have been inappropriate for grade school kids, it wasn't deemed inappropriate for high school kids. And no, the book wasn't in the grade school library, it was in the high school library. She was reading the passage in a meeting that grade school children might have been listening in on, which is why she was stopped. Still waiting for you to show where pornography is allowed in public schools. And, like I said, MANY books contain "racy" passages, but those passages contained in the book don't make the whole book pornographic. Just more hand wringing from idiots like you.

Then the SI Swimsuit issue would also qualify.

Shit..............if we're gonna lower the bar for pornography all the way down to the SI Swimsuit edition because it may titillate some people, what would be said about the Sears catalog from the 50's and 60's that many teen boys wanked off to?

some are arguing adult nudity is a form of free speech. i can "see" their argument

as soon as people know the REAL right wing agenda on social issues, they will RUN AWAY. no gay marriage, no abortion, no freedom

Mike Lee, get out of everyone's private life. this is none of your doggone business.

take your evangelicalism and shove it up your ***, you wanna practice it in private? that's your freedom, but don't trample on MY freedom to enjoy life

finally, we have a solution to inflation! thanks Mike! Wait...

There isn't any intent of the bill actually being passed and signed, and the Bidens all have porn hub accounts and Sleepy Joe will never sign it.

The purpose here is to show what a piece of shit the libs are, so they can't pretend they are "family friendly".

Reasonable strategy, we'll see how it works

The D's , by the way, so the same kind of posturing all of the time, like with their recent legislation about Gay Marriage as well as legitimate marriage between men and babes of different races. This is something which wasn't even challenged, but the D's passed it for political posturing, like they do with anti-lynching bills in 2022 where lynching is illegal everywhere.

The bill as proposed doesn’t even address the question of the written word. It addresses only images like photographs and videos.

Whether that is good public policy is a matter for debate.

I suspect this bill will go nowhere. Glossy pictures and hi-definition videos of naked adult humans isn’t going to be going away.

Yet the whole book is available to young kids in the school library.

Did your mother drop you on your head as a small child?!

Depends on your definition of young kids. It's available in the high school library, but is not available in the grade school library. The link provided even said as much.

Depends on your definition of young kids.

No it doesn't, you ignorant troll!

Biden would never sign a bill to ban internet porn. His son Hunter would probably illegally purchase another pistol and cap himself in the head.

That means he supports free speech unlike Republicans.

The OP thread headline is a lie.

It falsely says,

“Mike Lee (R) has just introduced a bill that would fine or imprison any American who posts “sexual content” of any kind on the internet”

From the linked article as well as from the text of the proposed Bill itself, the scope doesn’t include “of any kind.” It focuses on images:

And even then, it doesn’t necessarily forbid even nudity. It refers to an old obscenity case “test.”

Why does bakedbromide find it so necessary to lie?

Again the same thing. It doesn't matter. What you do in the privacy of your home is your business and as long as we have consenting adults, the government has no business sticking its nose in it.
