Maybe you forgot what made the US so strong. It is the higher wages. People who earn more will spend more and thus make the economy grow.
Higher wages are a real win-win situation in general.
What you have in mind is a country like Colombia or even the Confederate States.

Regardless of whether or not paying high wages is good for a company, they dont “have” to pay high wages any more than you “have” to work for them.

If a company is truly paying substandard wages they will get mostly substandard employees and the company’s reputation will suffer.

I'd say for my AO it's not too far off the mark but a bit on the low side as far as housing/food goes.

Nobody has a problem with the necessary government services like defense, courts, police etc. We need to collectively pay for roads because they are necessary. Most people think it is proper for the government to provide for a literacy education.

The problem is everything else. Welfare, entitlements, grants, subsidies, bailouts, foreign welfare and all the bullshit worthless government agencies.

Government always sucks. Big government really sucks.

It's not just taxes. Workers will go to where they get paid more. We hear about this so called "labor shortage" but it's really just bad employers not stepping up and attracting people. They feel as though companies are entitled to a good labor pool. Uh no they aren't. When employers are having to compete for workers that's when things are good.

Most of the expenses pay off. Do you really want to cancel payments of pensions? Driving the unemployed into crime, stop supporting the economy or risk its collapse by not bailout-ing banks? You can cancel foreign welfare as long as Trump funnels the money to Mr. Guiado but in general cutting the welfare will result in more expensive border security.
Your government has worsened the situation by oppressing those who try to end the terrible situation in their country. Not the usual leftards depleting the country, I mean those who really do something.
