More babies died in US than 68 other countries.

Whoa...so now the discussion is about whether or not Christians are seeking to establish a theocracy?

I can tell you unequivically we are not.

But don't let that stop you from throwing out that totally unrelated lie. Maybe it will help you, by creating a distraction.

I appreciate a good change of subject. It is indicative that whatever the topic is, I have won.

Did I mention Theocracy? No? Then STFU. I mentioned about the thin skinned nature of many of my Christian brethren. Every time someone defends a religion other than ours, they piss and moan....every time an atheist speaks against religion...we're being persecuted...

Well, that explains a lot....that you view this as a game. You don't care about this shit....all you care about is your message board persona. Shallow as hell...using aborted babies as your internet playground.

Has nothing to do with what I was talking about, but okay.

Here's the thing. We are the only major industrialized country that doesn't have single payer health coverage for all our citizens.

And not surprisingly, we have the highest infant mortality rate in the industrialized world and higher than a lot of third world countries as well.
Has NOTHING to do with an insurance bill.

Partisan hack science aside......if you cannot think for yourself, it is going to be difficult to discuss the fact that how you live determines when you will die. And never has an insurance bill altered that.

If only the anti-Choice fanatics were as upset about this as they are about abortion.

More US babies die day they are born than any industrialized country, report shows - Vitals

The U.S. is a worse place for newborns than 68 other countries, including Egypt, Turkey and Peru, according to a report released Tuesday by Save the Children.

A million babies die every year globally on the same day they were born, including more than 11,000 American newborns, the report estimates. Most of them could be saved with fairly cheap interventions, the group says.

From the link:

“The United States has the highest first-day death rate in the industrialized world. ..... This is 50 percent more first-day deaths than all other industrialized countries combined.”

This is surprising and unacceptable. This shouldn't be.

Don't worry ---- It's not...

You libs will buy anything fed you! The gov't sheeples...

You just shot yourself in the foot and I bet you don't even realize it. If single payer insurance is the standard why are the third would countries who don't have it doning better? Personally I think it's in the reporting or should I say estimating data. Since this was a smear piece to begin with I doubt they bothered to check how the data was compiled.

Some of those countries DO have single payer. And they do better.

For instance, Cuba is slightly ahead of us, despite the fact we've been punishing them for 50 years for taking Meier Lansky's Casino away from him.

Joe B --- taking BS liberal talking points as facts and ignoring rationality... EVERY TIME!!!

...what a joke you are...

No...but proper health care does. Health care that deals in positive outcomes, not how many tests we can pad the bill with. Salaried doctors instead of businessmen with MD behind their names....Pharmaceutical Companies that charge the same for their drugs no matter what country you live in,

Once we start having HEALTH care instead of ILLNESS care, the cost of care will come down. Obese people?Gym memberships, Gastric bypass and lap band surgeries should be covered....I hear heavy co workers complain of this all the time, but they're not...and I work for the state...which has decent to good benefits. Smoking cessation? You ever price Chantix? How about eye care? Why should we have to buy glasses and contacts for the rest of our lives, when most of us could benefit from LASIK surgery?

That's just three examples of really good solutions that have to be paid out of pocket.... in the case of bariatric surgery....it has a 100% cure rate of type II diabetes. The cost of the surgery pales in comparison to the cost of treating diabetes for a lifetime.

Almost everything you posted there is baseless. Gastric bypass is a total waste of money. Many people who have the procedure just stretch thei stomachs back out and regaining the weight and reintroduce the type 2 diabetes. The cost of the surgey is nothing compared to the cost of eating right to begin with. Point is, responsibility and accountability are the only REAL solutions. I know - I HAD type 2 diabetes until I changed my eating habits.

The choice of smoking and not smoking is the EXACT same deal. People who use tobacco products do so by choice. The cost of Chantix is no more than the cost of smoking. I know. I used tobacco products and payed for my own Chantix.

Lasik surgery is both covered by most major insurances and CHEAP as all getout.

The 3 issues you brought up are relative NON-issues.

Whatever you say. Skippy.

It depends on which studies you read. I know people who were insulin dependent diabetics, had the bypass...gained a significant amount of weight back....and still don't have diabetes. The stomach reduction is only one part of the procedure. They also bypass about 100cm of your small intestine...primarily the part that is responsible for processing fats, sugars, and dairy...from what I've been told...it forces a lifestyle change because they get sick if they consume those foods in any quantity....but, I've seen other studies that say different.

LASIK is not covered by ours and we have better than average insurance.

Look...the bottom line is that there should be no tool to good health off the table.

Skippy? Was that really needed?

It's not studies I'm reading. I have worked in medical imaging since before these gastric procedures were available. I can tell you from first hand knowledge that it is about a persons willingness to make changes in their lives --- The bottom line is that thee procedures don't work unless YOU make the changes. I've seen countless people have those procedures lose over 100 pounds --- only to start to put the weight back on again. Very few non-sugical physicians will tell you that surgey is a better solution than lifestyle changes, when possible. Once you have somebody cut you open and cut out part of your body you can't undo it --- not to mention the many complications that can arise from a surgical procedure. ...plus, many insurances would cover these questionable procedures anyway. The problem s that people have to meet the criteria to have them done. No smoking, drinking, not have other health issues, etc.

Have you looked into Lasik? Check local pricing, I think you will be very suprised at how inexpensive it is. Typically both eyes can be done for less than your deductible.

You should NOT have a free ticket to any health procedure you want. Any elective surgery should be subject to discretion --- and taxpayers as a whole should never be the financial force to healthcare of fools who refuse to be accountable and responsible for their own actions.

I should not have to pay for cancer treatment for people who refuse to quit smoking. I should not have to pay for the treatment of hepatitis that somebody contracted sharing needles. I should not have to pay for the healthcare of an indvidual who drove into a pole because he was wasted --- or at least he should pay higher premiums for living like a moron.

More babies died in US than 68 other countries.

that just tells me there are 68 other countries value life more than the abortion crazed U.S. liberals who want to go out a fuck their brains out then when they are pregnant....., cut that "abnormal growth" from their body.

what a country.., huh ? when a murdering doctor (?) and a pregnant female collude to murder a baby because she can not keep her knees together.

Most of those countries not only have legal abortion, but the government PAYS for them.

But they also have family and medical leave and universal health coverage, so women aren't winging it, trying to get in that last paycheck before dropping the kid.

You mean they manage health care more fairly than abusive insurance companies.

Those countrie spend less, their citizens live longer and yes... their infant mortality rate is lower.

Now, you might be one of these retards who says "Government health care bad because founding slave rapers didn't mention it". The Founding Slave Rapers thought bleeding people was a solid medical practice.

How about instead of denying his post with nervous laughter and and a personal dig...put your money where your mouth is and actually debate?

Squealing about "socialism" is sort of silly. Frankly, the Insurance companies are just as "socialist" as a big government program. Either you are paying for someone else's health care or someone is paying for yours.

Unless you get in the situation I was in six years ago, when I got sick, insurance paid for my treatment, but the company bent over backwards trying to find an excuse to get me to quit or eventually firing me. So, no, I don't take your whining about socialism very seriously.

The only way you make this work is pooling resources. The only question is, is the pool controlled by a greedy corporation where they pay themselves 8 figure salaries, or by a government we elect?

More folks are concerned about using our tax dollars to fund Planned Parenthood rather than encourage folks to redirect their money through a charitable fund to go to March Of Dimes.

Tax funded and private funded Planned Parenthood saves lives also. Abortions are a small part of their services. It provide many services for men as well as women. WE cannot save the world. Less than half the donations to Save the Children and March of Dime actually get to the public.

There is no such thing as abortions on demand. You have no idea how hard it is to get an abortion. Even if there were those babies are better aborted than live a life worse than death by being unwanted and unloved and many end up being raped and killed by some sexual predator because they are neglected. How many children are killed by drunk drivers, guns and family members, etc?

Are you REALLY a Social Worker? What do you tell a scared young pregnant teen? Do you show her pictures of dead fetuses and send her home with a copy of Dante's Inferno?

Why on earth would I do that?

When I see pregnant women I congratulate them on their pregnancy and offer them encouragement and resources.

I don't pull a depressed face and say, "Omg, I'm so sorry, quick kill it before the little monster kills you!" like you and the other baby killers do.
