So the Naval Base is experiencing about 1/3 inch subsidence every five years, and about an inch of sea level rise in that same period.

So if the congressional district there is cut in half by rising water (or sinking land) it will be noncontiguous and we can gerrymander at least one half to gop control......See, there is always a silver lining.

Such a dumb ass you are. Thwaites Glacier covers an area larger than Great Britain. So there are a few volcanoes under it. We have multiple volcanoes here on the West Coast, and every one of them is sheathed in ice. If they cannot melt all that ice sitting right on them, what makes you think that a couple of volcanoes could melt ice covering the area of the Thwaites Glacier.

Let's have a think about see levels, and rain. The problem is, when the earth has been void of ice, seas have been 200 metres higher than today. Some 18,000 years ago, they were approx 100 metres lower. So it's obvious that the more water in the seas, move to higher ground, and the more glaciers and ice sheets, you'll have to drive further to the beach. As for rain, man has built on floodplains, near rivers and in valleys where a heavy downpour creates a flash flood. Unfortunately, even the city of Atlantis got caught out.

So as the sea creeps up, I suggest people start doing something different with their homes, unless you are Obama, you do the opposite and live beside the sea.
