I watched a lot of interviews with Qanon nuts and flat earthers (both fully represented here), and it's fascinating. On one hand, you can see that they realize what they're saying is nutty, but they still believe it. I don't know how theyIt isn’t the full on crazies like Mudwhislte who bother me so much as the posters who realize the theory is batshit, so instead post stupid stuff like “well the government experimented with seeding clouds to make rain”
They know full well that jumping from that to “weaponized hurricanes” is crazy, but it’s like they want to pretend otherwise

Marjorie Taylor Greene Is Now Adding Lasers to Her Hurricane Helene Conspiracy
Marjorie Taylor Greene appeared to double down on her Hurricane Helene conspiracy theory over the weekend, following up a baseless claim that “they” can control the weather with an assertion that such a scheme might involve lasers. Thank you. I did not know that. I know that, after mid September, they typically swing north vs. northwest into Tex,as but did not know that many shifted East.Since 1851, a total of 14 hurricanes have formed in the Gulf of Mexico that moved to the east and into Florida. - James Spann

What fascinates me is how they automatically disbelieve anything they are told by the government, but they have no problem accepting the most sensational and outlandish conspiracy from an anonymous source on social mediaI watched a lot of interviews with Qanon nuts and flat earthers (both fully represented here), and it's fascinating. Imo its more that Trumpers will always say the other side cheated. The issue is more or less irrelevant. lolHow many Trumpsters here think that the Dems are specifically weaponizing the weather to influence the election?
That's what's being danced around here, isn't it?
Who is controlling Milton, Trump's Sharpie?Yep. Weather modification technology has been around for a long time.

Yeah, that's at the heart of this. What fascinates me is how they automatically disbelieve anything they are told by the government, but they have no problem accepting the most sensational and outlandish conspiracy from an anonymous source on social media
So you’re one of the ones who believes the hurricanes are “weapons”?Weak. You'd think with 222,000 posts, one would be better at clever retorts. Nice try though.

You are aware there's a rational medium between the 2, no?What fascinates me is how they automatically disbelieve anything they are told by the government, but they have no problem accepting the most sensational and outlandish conspiracy from an anonymous source on social media

Good to know
Yes, and they finally belong to something. They fancy themselves “freethinkers”
They also tend to be from undereducated segments of the population and seem to have chips on their shoulders against actual specialists in subjects who have actual higher education
Imagining themselves to be smarter than the actual experts is pathetic sort of ego boost, I suppose
