Mueller told Barr his memo failed to fully capture "context/nature/substance" of Mueller's probe

Per Washington Post. Being reported on CNN. Link below.

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III expressed his concerns in a letter to William P. Barr after the attorney general publicized Mueller's principal conclusions. Mueller also pressed Barr in a phone call to release executive summaries of his report.

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III wrote a letter in late March complaining to Attorney General William P. Barr that a four-page memo to Congress describing the principal conclusions of the investigation into President Trump “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance” of Mueller’s work, according to a copy of the letter reviewed Tuesday by The Washington Post.

At the time the letter was sent on March 27, Barr had announced that Mueller had not found a conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russian officials seeking to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. Barr also said Mueller had not reached a conclusion about whether Trump had tried to obstruct justice, but Barr reviewed the evidence and found it insufficient to support such a charge.

Days after Barr’s announcement, Mueller wrote a previously unknown private letter to the Justice Department, which revealed a degree of dissatisfaction with the public discussion of Mueller’s work that shocked senior Justice Department officials, according to people familiar with the discussions.

Good for Mueller speaking out about his report being twisted by Barr.

Thanks for mentioning your source in the beginning. It saved me from wasting anymore time to read your post as you disqualified it in the beginning.

BTW did they mention that Barr gave Muller the opportunity to comment BEFORE he released it but Muller chose not to comment further before the release?
Right. Mueller is not in the business of getting in public political duels with Trump stooges. He will wait for congress to question him.

Mueller's report failed to fully capture the context: Obama spied on Trump.
When did he spy on Trump?

He started during the 2016 campaign via the FISA warrants on members of his campaign. The Horowitz and Barr investigations are going to be explosive.
Are you speaking only about the FISA warrant on Carter Page, which began AFTER Carter left the campaign, 3 weeks before the election?

Was there any one under FISA warrant surveillance in the campaign, during the Campaign?

Also, to me... 'spying' is when someone is illegally wiretapping someone... No court approval.

NOT when investigators get a surveillance WARRANT approved by a Judge in a court of Law?

What is your definition of spying?

The spying is linke to the hundreds of people unmasked by Obama's admin. The Horowitz and Barr investigations will put sunlight on the horrible corruption of Obama and his henchthugs.
Do you mean to be unmasked to those who are in an authorized position by regs and laws to get an unmasking in a SCIF setting? Not much we can do about that, if they were authorized under the rules...even if there were a hundred of them...

BUT if there were unauthorized by law people that got it, then I can see the problem, and we should find out.

also

new laws may need to written to tighten that up!

The investigation either "charges" someone or they "don't charge". Mueller didn't charge. Period.
The political spin of all the "almost chargeable crap" would be deleted by any judge from the Mueller report.
Document the evidence, not the suspicions.

1. Trump was receptive to a Campaign national security adviser’s (George Papadopoulos) pursuit of a back channel to Putin.

2. Kremlin operatives provided the Campaign a preview of the Russian plan to distribute stolen emails.

3. The Trump Campaign chairman and deputy chairman (Paul Manafort and Rick Gates) knowingly shared internal polling data and information on battleground states with a Russian spy; and the Campaign chairman worked with the Russian spy on a pro-Russia “peace” plan for Ukraine.

4. The Trump Campaign chairman periodically shared internal polling data with the Russian spy with the expectation it would be shared with Putin-linked oligarch, Oleg Deripaska.

5. Trump Campaign chairman Manafort expected Trump’s winning the presidency would mean Deripaska would want to use Manafort to advance Deripaska’s interests in the United States and elsewhere.

6. Trump Tower meeting: (1) On receiving an email offering derogatory information on Clinton coming from a Russian government official, Donald Trump Jr. “appears to have accepted that offer;” (2) members of the Campaign discussed the Trump Tower meeting beforehand; (3) Donald Trump Jr. told the Russians during the meeting that Trump could revisit the issue of the Magnitsky Act if elected.

7. A Trump Campaign official told the Special Counsel he “felt obliged to object” to a GOP Platform change on Ukraine because it contradicted Trump’s wishes; however, the investigation did not establish that Gordon was directed by Trump.

8. Russian military hackers may have followed Trump’s July 27, 2016 public statement “Russia if you’re listening …” within hours by targeting Clinton’s personal office for the first time.

9. Trump requested campaign affiliates to get Clinton’s emails, which resulted in an individual apparently acting in coordination with the Campaign claiming to have successfully contacted Russian hackers.

10. The Trump Campaign—and Trump personally—appeared to have advanced knowledge of future WikiLeaks releases.

11. The Trump Campaign coordinated campaign-related public communications based on future WikiLeaks releases.

12. Michael Cohen, on behalf of the Trump Organization, brokered a secret deal for a Trump Tower Moscow project directly involving Putin’s inner circle, at least until June 2016.

13. During the presidential transition, Jared Kushner and Eric Prince engaged in secret back channel communications with Russian agents. (1) Kushner suggested to the Russian Ambassador that they use a secure communication line from within the Russian Embassy to speak with Russian Generals; and (2) Prince and Kushner’s friend Rick Gerson conducted secret back channel meetings with a Putin agent to develop a plan for U.S.-Russian relations.

14. During the presidential transition, in coordination with other members of the Transition Team, Michael Flynn spoke with the Russian Ambassador to prevent a tit for tat Russian response to the Obama administration’s imposition of sanctions for election interference; the Russians agreed not to retaliate saying they wanted a good relationship with the incoming administration.

Trump was warned during the primaries what the Russians were doing. He was asked to report any offers of assistance in the up coming election.

Like Carlos, Trump needs to answer for that.

Let's fire him in 2020.

B'loney. The Obamanoids did not warn Trump. They spied on and attempted to entrap him.

Bullcrap -

the Feds have been watching Goldilocks ever since he started selling condos to Russians in 1984.

end of story

Usually when you call someone out for being out of context, that is your opportunity to provide the context and clarity. Mueller????

The spying is linke to the hundreds of people unmasked by Obama's admin. The Horowitz and Barr investigations will put sunlight on the horrible corruption of Obama and his henchthugs.
The problem is, that the rules and policy allowed it to be done for the key people in administrations involved with Security.

that unmasking is done in a secure SCIF for the Admin person requesting only.

From my understanding, that is how it was done, by the book.

but if Horowitz can find that a rule was broken, then the wrist of the person should be slapped that did it... or the punishment the rules state for the violation of policy should be used.

But if it turns out the rules and regs on it were not broken, but disturbing none the less, or loosey goosey, then Congress should review it and have the regulations or laws modified.

The rules were broken. This is why the Obamanoids have been so desperate to destroy Trump - to keep their crimes covered up.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) has communicated to the Department of Justice its findings on abuse of the FISA system, according to attorney Joe diGenova, who was one of the original lawyers on the FISA court.

There will be grand juries and indictments, according to diGenova, who added, “John Brennan isn’t going to need one lawyer — he’s going to need five.”

“Their chief judge has already determined that for more than four years before the election of Donald Trump, there was an illegal spying operation (yes, spying — and, yes, illegal) going on by four FBI contractors to break the law to steal personal electronic information about American citizens and to use it against the Republican Party,” former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee wrote on his website on April 25.

Report: FISA court has investigated and notified DOJ of findings
how is the FISA COURT and the alleged illegal unmasking on Trump people, tied together?

There have been FISA abuses years back, and this was addressed already or maybe is in the process of being addressed.... nothing to do with Trump or not done specifically for Trump people....

there have been threads on this reported in the news the past few years on this site....

How in the world would Huckabee etc. know the confidential and classified information on how the IG investigation is going on this or the FISA court investigation? Seriously?

FBI warned Trump in 2016 that russians would try to infiltrate his campaign.

By the time of the warning in late July or August, at least seven Trump campaign officials had been in contact with Russians or people linked to Russia, according to public reports. There is no public evidence that the campaign reported any of that to the FBI.

Mueller does not want to be responsible for himself. He could and should have been concise and explicitly clear but instead some rambling thesis where others have to decipher him and now he’s girly bitching about it when he deliberately set it up this way.

Go Mueller!

If that's what you hope is going to happen, you will be disappointed. Mueller is motivated by nothing other than protecting the Constitution and the institutions it creates and sustains, I strongly believe. That includes the office of the president, and also the DoJ, even while he might despise the current office holders. So, he might explain his report in public testimony, but he will not be an attack dog. No way, no how.

He doesn't have to be an attack dog. Him stating the facts will suffice.

Not based on the rabid things I hear from the haters. If he falls to give them Trump's head on a platter, they'll insist he's lying.

Barr has a poker face. He tries to come across as a convincing liar. To me - he just looks like a fat slug.

When is a summary not a summary

according to Barr his initial musing about the investigation was not a summary

even though he has said it was a summary

I would agree with barr that it was not a summary because it was his opinion of the results of the Mueller investigation. An opinion based on making Trump look good and ignoring anything that make Trump look bad.

The question I have for Barr is who is your daddy?

Is trump your daddy or do you work for the people who expect the DOJ to be blind when it comes to justice

impartiality, the ideal that justice should be applied without regard to wealth, power, or other status

A summary is not a summary when you are worried about your job

Bar should have just quoted the conclusions and let congress deal with it?
