Because Lee is one of them. How is that erasing history, he isn't being taken out of history books. Why should a racist traitor be honored with a statue or monument?
The reasoning for the secession was undue economic restraints the federal government was putting on the southern states including the potential banning of slavery.
Lee chose the nation of slavery over a dream of freedom. He chose badly. The reason for secession was that the right to own other human beings was being challenged
The Confederacy was formed to ensure that slavery would be in place forever. 40 percent of the Confederacy was in bondage.
Lee chose to join that nation
lee was human. hilter was crazy. You are correct. Lee was a traitor, Hitler was not. Sorry Hitler.
trueLittle buddy, everyone will always know who General Lee was.
thall shall not judgeLee chose the nation of slavery over a dream of freedom. He chose badly.
Hitler was evil.lee was human. hilter was crazy.
no the norther freed them buster. the south wanted to keep slavery till it faded out. its a very complicated for some to understand.Lee was a patriot fighting for his country of Virginia. Virginia was among those states (countries) that seceded from the consortium of states from the north and formed a new consortium of states (countries) in the south. The reasoning for the secession was undue economic restraints the federal government was putting on the southern states including the potential banning of slavery.
The northern states then attacked the southern consortium of countries in a successful effort to reclaim them into the northern group.
The northern states considered African slaves to be an inferior race and had no designs on accommodating their newly gained freedom beyond sending them back to Africa.
I didn’t say the north didn’t free them. It just wasn’t the intent of the war. That’s why emancipation didn’t happen until the war had been underway for over a year.no the norther freed them buster. the south wanted to keep slavery till it faded out. its a very complicated for some to understand.
So owning other human beings isn't.Hitler was evil.
lee was human. hilter was crazy.
