The cop has been fired, but I don't believe he's going to be charged since Mr. Brooks resisted arrest, fought with the officers, took a weapon from an officer, then pointed it at them. His actions were his own undoing.

Why does everyone question the actions of the police without bothering to find out what brought about this response? The drunken thug is the one responsible for his own death. A DUI or Public intox doesn't warrant a search on the person until an arrest is made. They know he's combative, he's already stolen one weapon, and is running. The dashcam video shows him yanking it away from the officer while scuffling with him on the ground, not only that it showed him running past with it in his right hand. More video shows Brooks turning around and pulling the taser and FIRING it at the police officer.

Cops acted properly. That officer should be reinstated.
