What’s your view? Would the United States do well to emulate China and Japan, with their comprehensive bans on guns? Or is America a special case because of its Constitutional protections of gun ownership?

Let's take a look at the original article being referred to by the New York Times:

Innocent blood demands no delay for U.S. gun control - Xinhua | English.news.cn

If Obama wants to take practical measures to control guns, he has to make preparation for a protracted war and considerable political cost.

Hell they only want to reduce the resistance when they come to repo the US. Got to take care of your investments after all.

Everyone is afraid they will quit buying our debt. Best thing they could do. We would have to balance our budget then and live within our revenue. We may have to stop policing the world, foreign aid, too liberal welfare, products from china( we could make it here again = full employment) SMALLER GOVERNMENT.
