No, the Senate never got to try an impeachment on Nixon since Nixon resigned prior to being impeached.

Nixon was Impeached by the House. He was never tried by the Senate. That made him only the second President to ever be impeached (President Johnson being the first) and Clinton being the only other one. Johnson and Clinton ended up not getting the required votes in the Senate for a conviction while Nixon resigned before that became a factor. Impeachment is done by the House, not the Senate.

Imagine, with Watergate in full swing, to win reelection by a huge landslide like that, Nixon was almost untouchable. The Man had something on almost every Politician that could end their days in office or political aspirations. Unlike Trump, Nixon didn't use it. It's a shame he didn't use it and end a bunch of those careers to save his own. But he didn't. No matter what anyone says, Nixon was a class act in the end. That class act ended up being unstable and knew it, his cabinet knew it, the Joint Chiefs knew it.

Would I invite someone like Nixon for a Family Dinner? Never. Well, maybe the Manson Family maybe. But his being liked is immaterial. Nixon had a very foul mouth, nasty disposition and could be very rude. But the Man knew how to run a country. He made only about 5 promises to get elected and then reelected and kept all five. None were anything as silly as "Build the Wall". Two promises he made was; End the War, which he did and Balanced Budget, two years of his office he had a balanced budget. And he was damned loyal to those that worked for him to a fault which is what got him in trouble in the first place. But I wouldn't invite him for a cup of coffee at a coffee house though.

And Nixon resigned for the good of the Nation. Trump is unstable and doesn't know it. No one close to him has told him because he would destroy them and not believe them. I voted twice for Nixon and if another one like him came by, I would vote for him as well. But I won't vote for Trump, the unstable.
