NRA readies lawsuit against tyrannical California ammunition law

AMENDMENT II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

if the gooberment outlaws my ammo then they are infringing on my right to bear arms...a weapon is only "armed" when loaded...without bullets its a fireplace mantle chotskie....
Well regulated means ammo.
Just about any gun law is unconstitutional. Idc what the activist SC says. The constitution is clear.
No. That’s not what it means.
Damn right it does. It means arms are to be working efficiently and all means to use them are readily available.

See?

But if you are going to change your answer, please get it right.

Well regulated does not mean regulations. When the Constitution specifies regulations it specifically states who and what is being regulated. The phrase "well-regulated" was in common use long before 1789, and remained so for a century thereafter. It referred to the property of something being in proper working order. Something that was well-regulated was calibrated correctly, functioning as expected. So it's not just the arms that should be well regulated, it's also the militia.

“They bar out-of-state ammunition purchases and require that all in-state purchases be made from a licensed dealer. This shrinks the supply, which will inevitably drive up price. Moreover, they require that any ammunition purchased online be sent to a licensed in-state dealer, who will then charge a processing fee for the ammo, thereby driving the price up even further.“

How could anyone object?

You're also against people making their own ammo?

Richard Henry Lee agrees...

A militia when properly formed are in fact the people themselves…and include, according to the past and general usuage of the states, all men capable of bearing arms… "To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them."

- Richard Henry Lee, Federal Farmer No. 18, January 25, 1788

Sorry, the state can't regulate the thing that was designed to serve as a check to the state. That would be stupid.

Haven't you heard of the CMP?

Maybe the NRA is in better shape than the mainstream media want's to admit. Why would they expend crucial capital in a law suit that is guaranteed to lose in the people's republick of California?
