Number of Americans living paycheck to paycheck jumps 7 percent, report shows

(The Center Square) – A growing number of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck despite increasing wages, a newly released report found.
PYMNTS and Lending Club released the report, which says that 61% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, an increase of 7 points since May 2021. The report also found 54% of Baby Boomers and seniors are living paycheck to paycheck.

OP comment: Thanks Joe, you keep ruining Americans lives a home and abroad.
If people spend more than they make it's their own fault.

Shit I grew up poorer than a fucking church mouse and I still managed to put a little money aside

You frequently diss Trump and laud Biden. You’re an embarrassment.
I simply post facts. This place exaggerates Trump and Biden to the level of gross distortion. I am on record with plenty of criticism of Biden and the Democrats. However they have by far the superior agenda for America so policy wise it’s no choice. I assure you I don’t post waxing posts about missing them like a puss.

Trish Shreds Biden's Economic Policy "Get Ready For More Inflation!"

Electricity up 6.5%. Fuel oil up 59%. Firewood up 35%. Eggs up 12%. And, steak up 24%. The cost of everything is going up, up and away. Trish Regan warns it's about to get a whole lot worse.

Yup. Everything is upside down.

The working class families who had previously been shopping at Walmart are now so flush with cash that they are going to Whole Foods, while the middle-class people without kids who had previously been shopping at Safeway are so hard hit by Biden’s inflation that they are going to Walmart.
Give reparations to those who raised kids without this. We all know children are crumb snatchers. All of these agendas over the years have brought us to this point. Real growth is slower than the cost-of-living increases including the taxes and wage hikes for a good percentage of the population.

Why inflation is a political nightmare for Biden

Joe Biden's next political nightmare is inflation, a force that can destroy family budgets and political careers and is being driven by domestic and global factors tough for a president to quickly fix.

Government data showing the cost of living rose 6.2% over the last 12 months -- the highest rate in 30 years -- set off White House alarm bells on Wednesday and offered a new opening for Republicans lambasting Biden over high energy prices.

Red-hot inflation hurting millions of Americans financially, poll says

The hottest inflation in nearly four decades is inflicting financial pain on millions of U.S. households as prices for everyday necessities like food and gasoline continue to surge, according to a new Gallup survey.

The price spike has caused some degree of financial hardship for about 49% of Americans, according to the poll of 811 people conducted between Jan. 3 and Jan. 16. Roughly 9% of respondents said that inflation is causing "severe" hardship that has made it difficult to maintain their standard of living, while 40% described it as "moderate" financial pain. That's an uptick from November, when 45% of Americans said inflation was hurting their wallets.

The effect is more pronounced among lower-income families: Two-thirds of those making less than $40,000 a year say they experienced hardship compared with 56% of middle-income families and 32% of those earning more than $100,000 a year. What's more, 20% of Americans who are considered lower-income said the hardship they are experiencing is severe and hindering their ability to maintain their current standard of living.

Inflation jumped at its fastest pace in nearly 40 years last month, a 7% increase from the year-ago period, the Labor Department said recently.

Pending Home Sales Shock with 6.9% Collapse

Pending home sales defied predictions of a rebound at year-end, falling by 3.9 percent compared with a downwardly revised November estimate, data from the National Association of Realtors showed Thursday.

Compared with a year ago, pending home sales fell 6.9 percent. Sales were down by 10 percent or more in both the Northeast and the West. Sales fell in the Midwest and the South, as well.

That is true, but living paycheck to paycheck means not even being to afford the basics of life.
It doesn't mean that at all.

It means you spend your entire paycheck every week. Even people who say they live paycheck to paycheck buy shit that isn't necessary.

How many of those people spend 5 bucks or more at Dunkins every morning instead of making coffee at home for less than 30 cents a cup ( that's buying Starbucks beans at the store for $13 a pound)

Inflation will be tamed by re-election time. The trick will be doing it without recession. Economy is in cycles and the Covid disaster brought on by Trump is a bitch to fix. Obama fixed Bush’s disaster but it took time. Same with Biden. Right wing morons fuck up the economy and complain that Democrats don’t fix it fast enough. It would be funny if not so sad.
