I have yet to find any liberals who can refute the evidence that Obama is a Marxist by ideology. Question: Can any liberals on this board deny that Obama is a Marxist, or do you as Democrats agree with the ideology of Marx?

I think before he became President, Obama was far more to the left than he is now.

Once he became President, a lot of hard realities slammed into him. He is now Bush Lite.

It may have been a blessing in disguise that our country was going over an economic cliff when Obama was sworn in. This prevented Obama from going to work building the worker's paradise he envisioned.

It is bad enough he was able to enact ObamaCare, but it could have been much, much worse.

I think that's fair. It seems pretty clear that he did support gay marriage as a State senator, then abandoned the position as a US senator, only to adopt it again as President.

He's adopted many of his predecessors policies, including TARP, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars under Bush's time tables, and an entire surveillance network developed under Bush. He also continued and even expanded the use of drones as more of them came online.

And I suspect what changed his anti-war policy upon becoming president is exactly what you described: he learned about the realities behind the scenes that he didn't know before.

No one said it was 'capitalism'. What was said is spending billions and billions of the public's money to preserve some of the largest concentration of private capital is something that a Marxist wouldn't do.

Obama aggressively advocated the preservation of some of the largest concentration of private capital in the world during the banking crisis. A Marxist doesn't believe in private capital. And wouldn't take action to preserve it.

Obama's actions are explicitly contrary to your assumptions. Invalidating your assumptions.

The legislative branch saved "some" banks and let others die. Obama could not have the redistribution that he wanted that early in his presidency. That still does not take away from his deep seeded political beliefs.

Yes, I agree with g5000. Obama was in a very liberal bubble for a long time, from Columbia U through Harvard and then teaching at University of Chicago School of Law then community organizer. I know the guy who trained him in Chicago. He's worked with many Democratic campaigns and told me in 2007 that Obama wasn't ready but he would be elected. He meant he wasn't ready for assholes like yourself.
