If BHO had sent the Bushies to prison to await war crimes tribunals, this country would have went up in flames. We still see all the crying about "kenyan" "socialist" "marxist" "muslim brotherhood" and so on and so forth. The far GOP right has a large membership of extreme conservatism that can only rival the conservative Democratic leadership of the CSA and the KKK 100 years later.

The more rational Republican leadership and membership reach out to women and minorities the less we have to worry about the wackos dragging us down in future elections.
Gawd, you are a dumb fuck!

S.J. is proof positive of my position: we get rid of that crap and we can win again.

Pretty tough to judge Obama when the opposing party has proudly blocked so much of what he wanted to do.

[...]
There were critically important things he could have done which they could not have blocked, such as fire the remnants of the criminal Bush Administration, hire an honest Attorney General and direct him to investigate and prosecute the entire Bush crime family. .

That is, of course, nothing but empty, partisan nonsense. No one was prosecuted because there was no basis to do so, no matter how hysterically you stomp your little feet and shriek "I hate Bush! I hate Bush!" Grow the fuck up already.

Yeah, just like the last 2 times?

You, the reactionary crap, smeared our campaigns with your hatred and lies, and caused our losses.

That will not happen again.

Jake, I strongly doubt that.

Once the investigations and televised prosecution commenced, and the public became increasingly aware of pertinent details revealing the fundamentally evil nature of the Bush Administration and the damage its crimes have done to this Nation, I believe opposition to punishing those responsible would gradually diminish to an insignificant level.

It already is astounding to many, Americans and foreigners alike, how a $40 million investigation of the Clinton blowjob can lead to an impeachment trial while conspiring to deceive the Nation into unnecessarily, unlawfully, and immorally invading and occupying a non-aggressive nation, at the cost of 4,400 American lives, countless innocent Iraqi lives, countless examples of maiming and disfigurement, and the utter waste, so far, of $1.7 trillion dollars, much of which has been brazenly stolen, hasn't even resulted in a simple misdemeanor charge being lodged.

To officially ignore this level of corruption and misfeasance in government is a de facto statement that our Nation's days are numbered. If our government can get away with the kind of crimes it clearly has perpetrated we are kidding ourselves to believe we can survive politically. America is going to be sold right out from under us.

Are you even capable of commenting without resorting to dishonesty and hyper-partisan nonsense? You're making a fool of yourself.

Absolutely.

But....why not just answer my question?

Because it's a retarded ass question asked by a retarded ass troll.

What is with you? Do you know what a troll is? You seem to think a troll is someone who asks questions that nutters have difficulty answering.

Has the GOP cooperated with President Obama? Simple.

Please...just respond to the question. If you answer "yes", please support your answer.

I'll be happy to take that one. Where is it written the GOP has to cooperate with the slime ball? There is no requirement to agree to stupid shit.

Exactly. It is not written anywhere that the opposing party MUST cooperate with the President. Good to see that at least one of you are willing to admit that there has been no cooperation coming from the GOP.

What follows?

> suddenly this thread is about Bush - Gramps (20 yrs younger than this one)

Claiming Obama is a divider after eight years of juvenile decider followed by chinless McConell's first sentient statement in 2009 being his party's endorsement of Pigboy's statement 2/17/09 - three days BEFORE Obama took the oath:
So I’m thinking of replying to the guy, “Okay, I’ll send you a response, but I don’t need 400 words, I need four: I hope Obama fails.”
On 2/27/09 at CPAC convention of mindless lemming people chinless McConnell supported Pigboy's drug fueled (remember the dope addled bouncy boy pumping himself up to address his flock of human cattle?) hate mongering with this nugget:
I mean, let’s be honest. Who wants to hang out with guys like Paul Krugman and Robert Reich, when you can be with Rush Limbaugh!
As quick as it looked like nutballs might pillar-to-post their way back into some semblance of power in October, 2010, chinless McConnell upchucked this one onto America:
"The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president," McConnell said in the interview.
Not a word about the best bipartisan interests of the United States of America out of the nutball gaggle's senate guide-on in two years.

So much for the 'on the record' unifying behavior of the nutball gaggle that invaded two nations, helped criminals loot the investment industry, then gave Wall Street a free, unrestricted $800kkk kiss goodbye on their way out the door.

No one posting here has posted more specific, more objective, more well considered objections to Obama's aping of Republicans' malfeasant Wall Street bailout, his functionally supply-side stimulus (putting money in at the top) that - like Reagan's and all supply-side nonsense must - failed, wasting more than half a trillion propping up state and local government that - like Wall Street, NEEDED HOUSECLEANING (and, like Wall Street didn't get it), or the unconstitutionality of Obamacare. No. One.

But what we read is about Obama being a divider, when compared to the filthy lowlife cocksucking war mongering physical cowardly draft dodging motherfucking mama's boys, Junebug and Dickiless, preceding him, Obama is a marvel of bipartisan reason.

So, upon reading wild-eyed craziness like Obama being a 'divider' after eight years of the halfwit 'decider' followed by the scum of the earth like McConnell making it clear from the beginning that anti-American nutballs are way more focused on their shitty little party than the United States of America, well, that buys Obama a little slack from rational people.

Including people like me who think he is Junebug's 3d and 4th terms get a little tired of hearing and reading how bad he is (or to a lesser extent, how good he is) from the same filthy god damned corporatist scum who drove the USA into the dirt over the twenty-eight CONSECUTIVE years before Obama. It't a little bit like watching a very bad circus. A very bad circus.

Let me see if I understand this thread.

You rethugs are mad that Obama didn't do what it is you think he said he would do?
Now why in the fuk would you rethugs believe anything that a politician from the opposing party would say? You crazy or what?

You rethugs gave us Obama because you couldn't find anyone better than a Palin and you gave Obama back to us a second time because you couldn't find anyone better than a used Mitten. And now you are whining because he doesn't like you rethugs.

You all are a bunch of whiny ass losers. stfu. Obama doesn't like you and you don't like him. But to start a thread whining about what you worked so hard to bring about (hatred of the Pres) makes you rethugs look like what you are; really reallly stupid.

Pretty tough to judge Obama when the opposing party has proudly blocked so much of what he wanted to do.

That said, my biggest disappointment of his administration has been his absolute refusal to challenge American blacks on issues like black-on-black crime, fatherless children and the critical role of parents in education. Hell, at this point I'd have been satisfied if Michelle had done it. But no, all we've gotten is the standard fairness/victimhood platitudes.

This President is by far -- and not even close -- the most-equipped chief executive this country has ever had on this topic, and unfortunately he has clearly chosen to vote "present".

.

Not exactly.

So once in 2008 and once in 2009 he made comments about the points I raised?

That's not quite what I meant. I'd think such a critical issue would merit significant, sustained attention and effort -- and most of all, leadership. Especially from a President so clearly well-equipped to deal with the topic in a brave and articulate manner.

I think you made my point for me.

Mac I understand your point. Even agree with it. However, IF Obama had done what you suggest (appeal directly to blacks to do better) it would have been no different than when he identified with Trayvon Martin by saying that the kid could have been his son.

The rethugs would have either made him a biggot for insinuating that blacks have some sort of problems that others don't have or they would have made him out as a racist for only worrying about blacks and their problems.

I think he (Obama) would have been in an indefensible position either way.

And the rethugs would have beaten him over the head for months with either position.
IMO.

Happy Easter to you and yours Mac.

Thanks Zeke, you too. Happy Bunny!

Your points are valid, but that's why I pointed out that this would have taken leadership and bravery. This was the guy who could have done it. And holy crap, if the GOP had fucked with him on this, that also may have played into their stereotypes even more than they already have.

I think the black population needs this desperately, and I don't know who else is going to provide it now.

Exactly. The dude spoke on the issue and challenged American blacks....more than twice by the way. That does not suggest an "absolute refusal" to address the issues. Is he expected to make solving black on black crime and deadbeat dads a pillar of his Presidency?

If that is your greatest disappointment, he's got to be OK in your book.

Hell, my one and only black friend thinks they need it to. But it ain't gonna fix the problems. The problems are too deep and ingrained.

I mean, blacks are very good at a few things. Working a system and doing the least amount possible to get by. Those are learned behaviours from years of slavery, Jim Crowe laws and outright discrimination. I mean why work hard if you are not gonna be paid well or appreciated for your effort?

Black on black crime is unbelievable. However, killing another black man is how respect is made in the black community. And that is the only respect many of these young men will ever receive. For being a killer. Someone who didn't take no shit.

Same thing with working a system. Learned behaviour. One of the reasons blacks do so well in government systems is because they are protected from the private industries discrimination. As more and more laws protected blacks in govenment, they worked to hire more and more blacks. However they are not interested in improving the system they work under. They are interested in protecting their jobs.

In terms of the absent Dads. Most of those men are nothing more than sperm donors. They didn't have a dad and they are not interested in being a dad. Maybe that goes back to the old days as well when strong black men were lynched and families torn apart. Men leaving their families behind to find work. I don't really understand what needs to happen to keep them from abondoning their kids. And part of the blame goes to the young women who get pregnant just to start working the system. And black men know that if they father a child and don't help raise the child, that more than likely they state will be a better provider than they can be.

It is a mess for blacks in this country. And with no education, a felony record and no jobs that pay a living wage, it is not getting better for young black men anytime soon.

Really? I certainly do and I am probably younger than you. Are you stating that there was no racial divide in the 1960's and prior? There was no segregation, lynching, anti-miscegenation laws, Jim Crow laws, Black codes, very little minority representation in Congress and local forms of government? In short, "the good ole' days" might have been good for the White ruling class in this country, but it wasn't so good for certain minorities in this country who were oppressed, brutalized, and treated like at best, second class citizens. There's no denying that Gramps.

I said adult life. I am a young grandfather. Born in 68

Ok, so we are around the same age. You don't remember the beginning of the "angry white male" with limbaugh and the anti-Affirmative Action crowd in the 80's and early 1990's??? You don't remember the rise of the Neo-Nazi Skinhead movement in the 1980's and 1990's and the rise of the KKK, the Aryan Nations (Weaver & Co.), the ROHAWA movement, their predictions of a "race war" that was supposed to start in 1995? Really?

Now we have the "Angry Black Guy" era. The New Black Panthers, Race Baiters like AL Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, the Nation Of Islam and Black "youth" mobs that beat up defensles Whites in cities all across America.
