Officials announce proposal that would establish California as separate nation

Ahahaha California prepare to get raped for our water, oil, electricity and use of our interstate highways you will go broke. And since eastern California where all the food is grown will remain in the union you fools will be buying your food from China.

What better example for Liberal idiocy do you need than a movement for Cali to secede? Now do you understand why the E.C. protects us from just one fucked up state electing the President?

No, no, no. That's U.S. dirt. San Diego alone would be worth stomping them.

Drop in the SEAL teams and airlift the state government off to the pokey the minute they go rogue.

I would feel sorry for the decent hard working people in Northern Cali. I don't give a second thought for the scum (rich and poor alike) in the Southern part.

A proposal in California has been submitted to the Secretary of State’s Office on Thursday campaigning for the state to secede from the United States.

The proposed “Calexit” initiative would ask voters to repeal part of the state constitution that declares California an inseparable part of the U.S.

A recent poll suggested that one in three California residents would support a possible secession from the U.S. due to their opposition to President Donald Trump. No mention has been made of the president in the proposal.

If the proposal qualifies for the ballot and is approved by voters, it could be a step to a future vote on whether the state would break away from the rest of the nation.

Secretary of State Alex Padilla said the group behind the proposal, Yes California Independence Campaign, was cleared to begin attempting to collect nearly 600,000 voter signatures needed to place the plan on the ballot.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the supporters of the proposal have said California does not share the same cultural ideas as the rest of America.

So is this what those actors meant when they said they would the country if Trump was elected?

Literally every state has a secession movement in one form or the other, its just nice to see how many trump nazis are just angry hillbillies in flyover country

They talk a big story but when push comes to shove they need the Fed tax dollars. You will never see that State secede.

Cali is overrun with illegals and the their social services are stretched thin.

I don't know how anyone can afford to live in that state never mind have their tax dollar spent on illegals who are everywhere.

Plus they would lose the inland counties, and their water supply, unless negotiated with the remnant USA.

The Constitution has no exit clause. No state has the right to secede.

Of course, of all the pro-secession idiots that have existed in this country, not one has figured out that if a secession amendment were added to the Constitution, then any state that met the requirements of that amendment could secede without question.

Yeah, let's get rid of the sixth largest economy on the entire planet, and a major producer of our food.

California produces a sizable majority of many American fruits, vegetables, and nuts: 99 percent of artichokes, 99 percent of walnuts, 97 percent of kiwis, 97 percent of plums, 95 percent of celery, 95 percent of garlic, 89 percent of cauliflower, 71 percent of spinach, and 69 percent of carrots (and the list goes on and on). Some of this is due to climate and soil. No other state, or even a combination of states, can match California’s output per acre. Lemon yields in California, for example, are more than 50 percent higher than in Arizona. California spinach yield per acre is 60 percent higher than the national average. Without California, supply of all these products in the United States and abroad would dip, and in the first few years, a few might be nearly impossible to find. Orchard-based products in particular, such as nuts and some fruits, would take many years to spring back.

What Would We Eat if It Weren’t for California?

This is no surprise, the left has been trying to break America apart since the 60's, now they have resorted to their favorite tactic, playing the victim and all that entails [actually staying in America, demanding money for all the self inflicted damage, separation pay] when they could just leave and find a better life somewhere else [the pretend thing again]...Next they will target Hawaii.
