I'll explain my stance in half of the prior dozen presidential elections. I voted for somebody who couldn't win as means to communicate to the 2 major parties that they could take their candidates and stick them where the sun doesn't shine.

Then reading posts such as the OP's convinced me as satisfactory as that felt, I was being too selfish in tossing away my vote. So beginning with the 2018 mid-term I switched mindset and determined that if I don't care for either candidate I'd vote for the Democrat. Just because it would make the wife happy.

How do you figure there was any concession? Perhaps it your faulty assumptions that leads to you lack of understanding why folks see sense in voting for a non-major party candidate.

Presidentially, Its really not much of a mystery.

If you don't want to be complicit in the outcome that you do not support, don't vote for the candidate you do not believe it.

There are usually dozens of other candidates and measures on the ballot though. Not voting in those makes no sense.

Donald Trump gave us the lowest unemployment rates since John F Kennedy until the virus hit, and now Democrats are trying to keep the virus going because they are so evil they are happy to destroy the economy simply to defeat Trump. No I don't believe that he has a real chance at winning. I also don't believe that Trump and Biden are equally bad but I just have had a hard time feeling good about voting for either of them. The potential environmental policies of a Biden administration could have been a deciding factor for me if I voted for Biden but ultimately I aligned more with Carroll's platform than any other candidates and so that's where my vote went. I feel good about it, which is important to me.

Those that are not voting for Biden or Trump have my full support. It is a circus and they dont wanna be part of it.
