International law, simply put, does not really exist. It is, at best, an academic invention that lesser nations hope stronger nations will abide by.
It is always ignored by dictators and criminal syndicates whenever it suits them, and those make up at least two thirds of the UN. That's why we don't need to concern ourselves with it any more. It sounded like a good idea to a few sheltered intellectuals, but we know the real world doesn't give a shit about laws and far less about 'neutrality' and sooner or later you have pick a side. Some choices are immediately obvious.
