Petition Demanding Donald Trump Release His Tax Returns Breaks White House Record

Trump releasing his taxes would be like dropping a bowling ball on his own foot. Why would he do it?

So you and others admit there is probably stuff in his tax returns that makes him look bad... How genius of you to say he shouldn't release his tax returns because of that. But yet it was the DNC's fault for being crooked and it was ok that they were hacked and the stuff that was released only proved it.

Wow, what a double standard we have going on here.

Talk about a double standard. Trump won't give the left ammo to use against him, but when Hil-Liar erased her server after being subpoenaed by the US Congress, you on the left were okay with that.

Trump made Hillary a fair offer: you give us transcripts of your speeches to Wall Street, I'll give you my tax returns.

But that isn't fair! Only the Republican should give us information that may hurt him.

WASHINGTON ― A petition on the White House website asking President Donald Trump to release information about his tax returns has now received more signatures than any other petition in the system’s five-year history.

As of Thursday afternoon, the petition had over 368,000 signatures, surpassing the previous record of 367,180. The previous record-holder called for the United States government to “legally recognize the Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group.”

Trump has kept in place former President Barack Obama’s online petition system, which was created in 2011 to increase accessibility to government. The site also still states that a petition with at least 100,000 signatures will get an official response.

A spokesman for the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the petition.

hahaha...Hey, trump 60% of this country wants to see them,.

it won't make a difference. the orange sociopath only cares about the approval of trumpster loons, until he is threatened with impeachment, he won't release any information that might prove what putin has on him.
If he releases one, it will not be what he really should have paid anyways, so what is the difference? It would just be another Trump lie.

I think the IRS knows perfectly well what Trump should have paid; maybe not to liberal standards, but legal standards.

Pretty ironic watching the brain-dead right insist President Tinkles keep his tax records hidden (something all presidents have released since Nixon) after watching them spend the last 8 years demanding Obama release is college transcripts (something no president since Nixon has done).

But hey, if they had any honor, they'd be Liberals instead of sniveling conservatives.

Liberals have no honor or dignity. Need proof, just check out the protests and riots.

Trump is not a professional politician. Professional politicians gear their income tax returns in the event of the need for public disclosure. A dog and pony show Trump never prepared for.
Then he never should have said he would release them. Now he's proven to not be a man of his word.

A lot of people say things they shouldn't have. You know, like if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor? If you like your insurance company, you can keep your insurance company? Nobody making less than 250K a year will see a new tax of any kind? Families will save up to $2,500 a year on health insurance costs?

What makes showing this kind of info part of the process? Why would Trump have promised to release his taxes? There is a principle in democracies, even republican ones, of 'transparency', where people in positions of power demonstrate lack of conflicts of interest.

LOLOL

Pointing out Trump went back on his word doesn't make me butthurt -- it makes you a fluffer.

Obama went back on his words about keeping your plan and doctor.
Time and time again. Repeatedly.

Yet you and your fellow Democrats believed him.

Does that make you a fluffer?

Many did not like Obama. Such people using Obama's actions to justify their candidate's same actions use a very strange logic.

With all the challenges the Republic is facing; out of control public debt, stagnating economic growth, broken immigration system, failing education, un-affordable health insurance, radical Islamic terrorism and a plethora of other issues, it's nice to see that some Americans have their priorities straight and aren't getting distracted from focusing on the really important stuff, like being able to see the Presidents fucking tax returns.

You can petition it all you want. He's been pretty clear it's not going to happen and at the end of the day, if it was really weighing that much on people's minds he wouldn't have won.

Yea, people didn't care that he can't help himself but grab married pussy either, non-issue since he won

you mean crowd size at innaguration is not a real issue?

Tax reform and ETHICS are real issues. By not releasing his Taxes Trump is setting a PRECIDENT hence forth and we will NEVER see another tax return again. Besides, a self proclaimed swap-drainer that for the first time in modern presidency won't even release tax returns? Sounds like pretty real issue to me.

Why are you giving this guy a pass on what would be your rallying cry against Hillary's corruption! If she would have done the same.

Trump releasing his taxes would be like dropping a bowling ball on his own foot. Why would he do it?

Because it ain't an innocent accident. We have to hold his feet to that fire until he decides that dropping the bowling bowl there is a better idea and comes good on that important promise.

It is important for precident going forward, it is important for tax reform, it is important for his credibility.

hahaha...Hey, trump 60% of this country wants to see them,.

What's the matter? Those other on-line "petitions" to retroactively turn the Presidential election into a popular vote didn't work?

The law doesn't require Trump to release his taxes, it only requires he turns them into the IRS. Not that progressive turds like you give a damn about what the law says.

Who said anything about "crowd size" ? I couldn't care less about the "crowd size" at the inauguration, hell I wouldn't have a gave a fuck if nobody showed up.

Tax reform and ETHICS are real issues.
What the hell does Donald Trump showing you his tax returns have to do with that? Or are you unaware that the IRS is actually responsible for holding tax payers accountable for meeting their legal obligations with respect to tax liability?

By not releasing his Taxes Trump is setting a PRECIDENT hence forth and we will NEVER see another tax return again.
That's Great news! unless of course you're an IRS agent in which case I suppose that would make them obsolete and thus candidates for the unemployment line.

Besides, a self proclaimed swap-drainer that for the first time in modern presidency won't even release tax returns? Sounds like pretty real issue to me.
It sounds like a "pretty real issue" to you because you're a hyper-partisan lemming looking for something to criticize the "other side" for and thus have no sense of proportion or perspective.

Why are you giving this guy a pass on what would be your rallying cry against Hillary's corruption!
How does not releasing a tax return to the public equate to Hillary Clinton's corruption?

Poor matthew, 368,000 is not 60% of this nation
Matthew didn't say that 368,000 is 60% of this nation. He made two distinct separate statements.

1, 368,000 people signed petitions for Trump to release his tax returns.

2. 60% of this nation wants to see Trump's tax returns, including those who signed the petition.

I don't buy into polls...nobody but the whining left cares about the returns. But they whine about everything so it's nothing new
