No-Blame-for-Obama-and-low-gas-prices.jpg

Remember back in 2012 when Gingrich said Obama would have gas prices at $10 per gallon by the end of his Term?

California has always had higher than average gas prices because of the state's excessive taxation on everything as well their wacky environmental rules.

Gas Prices over $5 a gallon California

Gas Price Over $5 in California

While the price hovers around $1.75 for an average gallon of regular gasoline nationwide, it has moved above $5.00 in one part of California. And in others, the price is just below that figure.
Gasoline has moved above $5 at a station in South San Francisco. But across much of the state, the price is around $4, according to GasBuddy. As a matter of fact, among the stations nationwide with the most expensive gas, 38 of the top 50 are in California. The high prices are not concentrated in one area. In Los Angeles and cities close by, gas prices are routinely above $3.80. Prices are also that high around San Jose and San Diego. The common thread across these pockets of high gas prices is that almost all are in big cities.

Let's try Beer Prices

No drought in beer prices in these cities

#1 NEW YORK

According to Go Euro, the price for a beer in The Big Apple is $5.20. That is the average between the price of a beer in a market ($1.44) and in a bar ($8.97--YIKES!). Go Euro says the average American beer drinker consumes 85 liters a year, or around 40 six-packs, meaning New York beer lovers spend more than $1,200 a year on beer.

#2 MIAMI

Miami is Hot Hot Hot! And so are the beer prices. (OK, so Buster Poindexter was singing in New York, but that is TOTALLY a Miami song). Go Euro lists the average price of a beer in Miami at $5.13. In a store, it's $1.29, and in a bar, it's as expensive as New York at $8.97
#3 SAN FRANCISCO

#3 San Francisco likes to think of itself as New York West, and high beer prices help! The average here is $3.97, a combination of a market beer at $1.46 and a bar beer at $6.48.

#4 BOSTON

Beantown is home to Boston Beer Company, maker of Sam Adams, and the average price of a beer here is $3.72, averaging a store price of $1.46 with a bar price of $5.98.

#5 CHICAGO

Beer in Chicago much cheaper than New York's, averaging $3.56. The price of a beer in a Chicago market is a mere $1.37, and in a bar? $5.76

A survey released this week by WalletHubfound that both beer and wine prices could vary by almost 100% depending on the city. For example, the average price of a six-pack of beer (either 12-ounce cans or 1.5 liter bottles) in Baton Rouge, La. — which boasts the cheapest beer in America — was just $7.41, compared with $13.31 in both Aurora, Ill., and Chicago — which are tied for the honor of priciest beer in the nation, beating the runner-up by more than $3.

cities with the cheapest beer in America

Baton Rouge, La. $7.41
Oklahoma City $7.48
Omaha, Neb. $7.62
Buffalo, N.Y. $7.70
St. Louis $7.81

ANYMORE QUESTIONS?

Not at all.

Gas is cheap in red states because people are in a hurry to get somewhere else; anywhere else.
When they’ve given up, they kill themselves one cigarette at a time.

God works in mysterious ways.
