And, as I said, I am not in a finacial position to be your personal patron. But my tax dollars, at least a small part of them compared to the part that subsidizes other programs like infrastructure and the armed services, are paid to help alleviate the plight of the poor.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed with 80% of the Aye vote cast by members of Congress representing States which remained in the Union during the Civil War. Less than 10% of the members of Congress who served the 11 member States of the Confederacy supported the bill.
Thus all of those above who claim Republicans were the good guys and Democrats were the bad guys are liars, liars by omission of the essential facts.
