The post began with a ringing endorsement of the accomplishments of the Obama administration.

Perhaps you should re-read that post. Think about the context and the presentation of the argument. Ask around about me and tell me how many folks would provide any Conservative bona fides for me.

And, as I said, I am not in a finacial position to be your personal patron. But my tax dollars, at least a small part of them compared to the part that subsidizes other programs like infrastructure and the armed services, are paid to help alleviate the plight of the poor.

2. The only reason Democratic majorities were beginning to support civil rights for blacks was that by 1964, thanks to Republican voting rights acts, more blacks were voting. Democrats couldn’t keep winning elections in some parts of the country by appealing to the racist mob.

Again, a lie by omission and of ignorance. Al Gore Sr. was a Democratic Senator from Tenn and Tenn. was a member of the Confederacy and Al Gore Sr. Vote Against the Civil Rights Act.

Byrd was a Democrat, and if you had the ability to read, you would understand that 80% of the Northern Vote supported the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In fact Byrd participated in the filibuster:

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed with 80% of the Aye vote cast by members of Congress representing States which remained in the Union during the Civil War. Less than 10% of the members of Congress who served the 11 member States of the Confederacy supported the bill.

Byrd was a Democrat, and if you had the ability to read, you would understand that 80% of the Northern Vote supported the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In fact Byrd participated in the filibuster:
