Quran, a gift of guidance to humanity

Surah 19 is called Maryam (Mary) and details the story of the virgin giving birth to Jesus (Isa)

Mary is the only female mentioned by name in the Quran and is given the honorific title of 'Sister of Aaron'.

And Jesus is called the 'Son of Mary' which is extremely unusual in a culture where linage is identified by a person's male family members.

Actually, Sunni, it identifies Mary the mother of Jesus as Moses sister and also identifies her as sharing the same father as Moses but here is the problem, Sunni. Mary the mother of Jesus didn't come along until 1600 years after the Mary ( Miriam -same name ) had already died. It was an obvious mistake in the Qur'an and one that has never been explained satisfactory as it is impossible. A mistake is a mistake. Mohammad was human. He made a mistake. It is alright to admit that when he heard the story of Jesus and also the stories of Moses on his caravan travels he got the two women confused. Therein he repeated the story to his followers incorrectly and they in turn recorded it into the Qu'ran exactly as he taught it. Still, it is an error. Mary the mother of Jesus was not 1600 years old when she gave birth to Jesus. She didn't have the same father as Moses and she was not the sister of Moses either.

The greatest verse in the Quran can be found in chapter 2

It is called the "Verse of the Throne". (Ayat al Kursi)

Surah 2:255 "Allah! There is no god but He - the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him Nor Sleep. His are all things In the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede In His presence except As he permitteth? He knoweth What (appeareth to His creatures As) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they compass Aught of his knowledge Except as He willeth. His throne doth extend Over the heavens And on earth, and He feeleth No fatigue in guarding And preserving them, For He is the Most High. The Supreme (in glory)."

Is it permissible according to Islam to eat the flesh of teeming vermin who go down on all fours?
Vermin animals such as rats, mice, weasels, gophers, etc. are forbidden to eat in Islam.

The same goes for predatory animals, lions, wolves, jackal, crocodiles, etc.

And birds of prey, eagles, hawks, owls, etc.

Also, domestic pets such as cats and dogs are forbidden.

Can you see that in a certain light that the teaching that God wants people that he created to walk on two feet to get down on their hands and knees five times a day is the flesh of teeming vermin who go down on all fours?

Can you see how just like the command to refrain from the flesh of unclean beasts that do not ruminate has clear and direct human implications the command to refrain from the flesh of teeming vermin who go down on all fours has clear and direct human implications as well?

I understand.

Many people laugh when they are embarrassed. Some creatures would laugh when challenged to think because ruminating is not their strong suit.

Personally if I was going around on my hands and knees I wouldn't think it was very funny

The Quran provides guidance for grown children on how to treat their elderly parents.

Surah 17: 23-24 "Your Lord has decreed that you shall serve none but Him, and do good to your parents. Should one or both of them reach old age with you, never say ‘Ugh’ (sound disgusted) to them, nor scold either of them; but speak to them kindly and respectfully, spread over them the wings of humility and mercy, and say, ‘My Lord, have mercy upon them, as they raised me up when I was little."

The 112 chapter (surah) of the Quran is called Al Ikhlas ("the purity" or "the refining")

It is a short surah of only 4 verses (ayat) that confirms the monotheistic 'Oneness' of God and that he has no partners/helpers.

And is considered to be equal to 1/3 of the Quran.

Surah 112

1. Say: He is Allah, the One and Only
2. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute
3. He begetteth not, nor is He begotten
4. And there is none comparable unto Him.

Sura 112

الإخلاص

“Alikhlas”

“The Absoluteness”

(Named in honor of the idol “allah”)

Sura 112, in keeping in vogue with the final chapters of the Koran, inform us the truth regarding the Koranic “allah”. In this chapter the authors of the Koran state, in no uncertain terms, that “allah” is an idol that is worshiped. As such, he can never beget, nor is he begotten.

Summary:

112.1 Say: "He, “allah”, alone.” (The god “allah”)

112.2 “The erecting of “allah”.” (“allah” the idol)

112.3 “He begets not, and he is not begotten.” (Idol worship of the god “allah”)

112.4 "And was not for him comparable, alone.” (Idol worship of the god “allah”)

Surah 103 is the shortest chapter in the Quran and consists of only 3 verses (ayat)

1. By time,
2. Indeed, mankind is in loss,
3. Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.

This is what the Quran has to says about devout Christians. (monks, priests)

Surah 5:82 "...and nearest among them in love to the believers (muslims) will you find those who say, 'We are Christians,' because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant".

Surah 2:62 "Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

Sura 103

العصر

“AlAAasri”

“The time during which peoples pass away and become extinct”

(Named in honor of the Biblical Jesus’ Second Coming)

Sura 103 is a short three ayahs, but paraphrases Biblical material that revolves completely around the Second Coming of Jesus Christ as detailed in the Book of Revelation.

We discover that in weaving this material together, the Koranic authors have primarily paraphrased Revelation chapter fourteen.

Summary:

103.1 And/by the time during which peoples pass away and become extinct.(Announces Jesus’ Second Coming, the Second Death, the end times)

103.2 Truly the human is in punishment for sin. (The Second Death)

103.3 Except whom they believed and they did the righteous deeds, and bequeathed one another through the truth, and bequeathed one another on account of the patience.(The First Resurrection)

Do not miss the following verses.

quran 3.118
O ye who believe! Take not into your intimacy those outside your ranks: They will not fail to corrupt you. They only desire your ruin: Rank hatred has already appeared from their mouths: What their hearts conceal is far worse. We have made plain to you the Signs, if ye have wisdom.

quran 5.51
O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily God guideth not a people unjust.

How is it that the Koran proclaims that Jesus was crucified until death upon the cross, that He was singularly resurrected on the third day, that He is God and that He judges humanity...?
