I'm hopeful that w/in the next 500 years or so that science will show us to a much higher level of certainty than what we know today. Patience, mi amigo, patience. We don't have to resort to fairy-tale-sounding ancient stories if we don't have all the answers right today.I'd love to understand why you harbor so much hatred towards LGBT (look, you can believe what you want, it's a free country, I still care about you.) Keep in mind that just because all 3 of the main Abrahamic faiths teach hatred towards those that are different (gays, non-believers) doesn't mean that you can't embrace the good parts of those religions, and jettison the bad parts - that's part of what Scientific Humanists do. Buy into the love of those religions, but don't bring forward the hatred.I believe in you, I believe that you can love as much as we do and answer "yes" to that question: "if they were in Jesus' shoes would have spoken up w/in the last 2000 years and said that the bible was wrong to say to kill gays, and that they don't get to heaven (god/Jesus control access to heaven), and that you (Jesus) was wrong to not have spoken up for gay rights?"As we have just proven you to be both biased and full of hot air.....why are you back?
It appears you have a need to answer the insecurities you have about your own choices.
True?
I can't imagine a loving, caring, all-knowing god (if any) would punish you for answering "yes" to this question. In fact, it might be risky to NOT be able to find the love to answer "yes" to this question. If there is such an after-life judge, would he not be loving, and punish you for not being loving as well?
Have a great week.
Seems you have yet to come to terms with your own doubts.
It's a start.
Can you tell us?
Let's review:
1. You wouldn't respond to how the universe was created
........
"I'm hopeful that w/in the next 500 years or so that science will show us to a much higher level of certainty than what we know today."
Is that the same 'science' that says the universe came from 'nothing'?
I just need to know.
"We don't have to resort to fairy-tale-sounding ancient stories...'
But atheistic 'scientists' do so all the time....and they admit it, knowing that dunces like you will go 'duh...yup...yup.'
Need proof?
Sure:
Professor Richard Lewontin, a geneticist (and self-proclaimed Marxist), is certainly one of the world’s leaders in evolutionary biology.
He wrote this very revealing comment:
“‘We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health and life, in spite of the tolerance of the scientific community for unsubstantiated just-so stories, because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism.” Lewontin explains why one must accept absurdities: “…we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door.”
Some science, huh?
