Lol, the tourism board of a town with less than 8,000 residents is in a panic.

How much tourism do you suppose they really see?

It's one of their two primary economic activities, numbskull, the other being education, since that's where Virginia Military Institute is located. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that a town that small isn't going to have a lot of industry, so they'd almost have to be heavily dependent on tourists; of course, you're not even close to a genius, so I'm not surprised you couldn't think this one through.

In a further bit of irony the owner of the Red Hen was the chairperson of something called "The Mainstreet Association" which was established to offer friendly service to customers. She resigned from the position shortly after the incident.

I'm guessing it was very similar to the way Richard Nixon "resigned", ie. being told, "Get out before we throw you out."

They asked her to resign from the local business group, which she did. And yes, a lot of innocent people have been hurt due to her self-absorbed virtue signaling.

The city of Lexington is a college town with two major universities, VMI and W&L so the city is generally run by elitist left wing academia.hypocrites with no real ties to the area while the County of Rockbridge is generally conservative. The weekly paper actually supported the insane notion that businesses can discriminate against conservatives and republicans wearing a MAGA hat would presumably be fair game for assault so it's obvious that the elitists think that their particular brand of bigotry surpasses the tourism money that the city depends on.

Today's issue of the News Gazette quotes a lame peculiar statement from the Lexington mayor Frank Friedman "Many are looking for a fight because of Stephanie's (Wilkerson) action but the irony is that Sarah Sanders chose Lexington as a place to come and get away from it all". Say what? It isn't irony Mr. mayor, it's a freaking crazy display of anger that insulted Mrs. Sanders and chased her away.
