Repubican capitalism made us rich, but liberalism stole the money!!!

Is that Obama's plan?...oh wait he doesn't have a plan and the money goes into the general fund thank you LBJ :eusa_eh:

Thank you Reagan, Bush and Bush as well. We know what we have to do to resolve it, and both parties have to commit to it.

Umm...Sorry but Reagan extended the life of Social Security, and W Bush tried to reform it. Obama?

They continued to take out the funds and throw it away on wars. Just like Bush the Younger.

You can never evade the fact that the Pubs and the Dems are equally guilty on misusing SS funds.

It made a select few rich.

Democratic office has created bigger economic booms in less time.

What were the Reagan and Bush plans?

Maybe Republicans should offer prizes for ideas to kill Social Security?

ok poor poor idiot liberal you get a prize if you can say whether retiring with an estate of $1.4 million is better or worse than retiring with no estate but a just a little dog food money ($1200 each month) from Democrats!!

A liberal will actually be so slow, so anti-science, as to find this an impossible problem.

Are you suggesting that before social security was enacted Americans retired on $1.4 million or would retire today on $1.4 million today if there were no social security? I bet a lot of Americans aren't even aware of this fact? No wonder Republicans want to get rid of social security. Was this always the Republican plan and if so why haven't they told us about this before?
Wow, that's sure better than dog food. How come Hoover didn't push this plan instead of giving money to business?

too stupid!! read OP!!! If an average American put 15% of his lifetime income into a private account rather than into libturd Social Security he would retire with $1.4 million, not liberal dog food money!!!

Sounds great!
So can we get the Republicans to go along with this law, that is if they ever get back into power, I mean taking 15% of an individual's income and placing it into an account for him? Is this $1.4 mill guaranteed or is it subject to market or economic fluctuations? If guraranteed, who guarantees? Could a person draw out the money anytime he wished, how about some of the money? Would those that decide not to participate have that option? This is better than the Townsend or Long's plans and they were pretty nutty. I mean Townsend would give each person over a certain age, $200 bucks a month providing they spent it that month. So how do we get the government to pass this program?

That's a mighty big if.

As in If an average American put 15% of his lifetime income into a private account rather than pissing it away on a lot of useless shit at the mall.

Sounds fairly liberal of ya and like welfare for publicly traded companies vs private companies.

Hey, Can I invest my private account in Chinese companies? Russian? I have to beat inflation and the DOW average after all.

Or do you prefer mandatory and self sustaining while benefiting our governmeng?

Yes, it would be like the "good old days"!. My grandfather lost a fortune that had accuumulated over 3 generations during the depression of the 1930's, and retired with "zero", and lived the remaining 25 years of his life with my aunt, who provided him free room and board to keep him from living on the streets.

Mandatory?

That's rather Big-Government-Liberal of you.

People should be able to do what they want with their own money, no?

well yes and no. We don't want to suppport them when they blow all their money nor watch them starve in the streets so its probably better to make them put 15% away each year. It is a nasty compromise for sure.

How about we make em put it away but in a safe way that benefits no corporations over others?
