Republicans Refuse to Negotiate With "The Hostage"

Biden waited to the last minute to avoid spending cuts

There will be no spending cuts. McCarthy has not provided any schedule of spending cuts to be negotiated. Without them, there is no negotiation.

There is absolutely nothing in your post to refute anything that I posted. All there is is your usual incel hate against women in general and me in particular.

You have no interest in any of the children. You’re only interest is the cruelties inflicted upon the women.

Your post about retirement income reveals both your age and your complete ignorance of economic matters. The notion that it is up to you to provide for your own retirement is a bullshit lie that is promulgated buy the top 10% of corporations and wealthy individuals.

Given that stagnation of wages under Republican tax and labour laws, supplemented by “earned income credits” and food stamps, it is financially impossible for the majority of working Americans to pay for their education, provide for their families, and save for their retirement.

The USA currently has the third highest rate of Senior Poverty in the first world. In the richest country in the world, there is absolutely no excuse for this these levels of poverty.

High taxes, incompetent government and Bidenflation make things difficult for us all.

This is like when Mitch McConnell said it was his job to make Obama a one term president. And that he hoped Obama (and with it the country) would "FAIL".

Republicans know if they screw up the economy, that Biden wouldn't be able to win.

Obama did fail, that's why the American people flipped 63 House seats to the Republicans in 2010.

McCarthy hasn’t specified cuts. He’s just specified an overall percentage of spending, not where he expects to make the cuts to achieve that person overall percentage.

Biden has asked for a list of cuts with specifics. McCarthys caucus can’t agree on the numbers which is why he doesn’t have them.

Sounds like there's room to negotiate.

Biden has asked for a list of cuts with specifics.

If Biden agrees to the numbers, they can negotiate on the specifics.

It was that way long long before Biden. It's just worse now. Chisel away at things that help average workers and this is what we get. So we should now encourage.
1). No new families
2). No higher education
3). Don't retire. (Crime against humanity)

This could all be solved so easily if Democrats would just agree to cut spending, something the leader of the IMF has asked Biden to do. We don't want to talk about cutting spending later because Democrats have been quite clear that they do not want to cut spending at all and have, in fact, proposed a 2024 budget with no cuts.
September 30, 2017. Debt ceiling suspended to March 2019. No spending limit! Republicans controlled both Houses of Congress and did not threaten to shut down the government.

March 1, 2019
. Debt ceiling reinstated and raised by over $2 trillion above current debt. Republicans controlled the Senate and did not threaten to shut down the government.

August 2, 2019.
Debt ceiling suspended to July 2021, well after the 2020 election. No spending limit! Republicans controlled the Senate and did not threaten to shut down the government.

All of this was on Trump's watch and BEFORE the pandemic.

And yet you rubes magically bleev the GOP is fiscally responsible!!! :auiqs.jpg:

Republicans consider the economy (and the American people) as their hostage

Do you know who the largest holder of the National debt is ? The US tax payers. Your goddamn right we are hostages and its a bi-partisan effort by the politicians to keep it that way.

You still have to pay the bill up until the date the cable is disconnected.

The debt ceiling is payment for bills already incurred.

You still have to pay the bill up until the date the cable is disconnected.

Yup. And you can still cancel it before you make that payment.

The debt ceiling is payment for bills already incurred.

We haven't incurred July's cable bill yet, still plenty of time to cancel it.

Pass the debt ceiling THEN, AFTER THAT, discuss budget cuts. I'm glad to see McCarthy has presented no cuts to SS or Medicare.

Hey, I am all for fiscal responsibility. The only time we get serious about the issue is when we have a democratic president and a Republican congress. So, I would be fine with having a democratic president forever and a Republican Senate and House forever. I'm an independent anyway. This is the only combination that ever works for fiscal responsibility. Will you join me in my cause, or do you prefer both sides spending like drunken sailors?

If default is such a concern with Democrats, why did they punt the debt ceiling process to Republicans instead of negotiating before they lost control of the House in 2022? Republicans already passed a bill, Democrats don't like it, they are having a tantrum, and somehow it's Republicans?

Get a grip.
