Republicans Refuse to Negotiate With "The Hostage"

The Debt ceiling was considered a negotiating tactic before.

Even Trump said it was stupid to use it as a negotiating tool, it is the financial equivalent of negotiating with a sucide bomber in a small room.

GOP are threatening to blow up everything unless they get their way... They are relying on the Democrats sense of duty to negotiate...

Biden has a right to tell them to fuck of and send a clean bill or no one is passing it... Congress gets the blame, that's it...

That's NOT what Biden is now saying.

Yes, they pumped a lot of cash in 2020 along with super low interest.
The gop is attempting to undue the 2020 election, and the dems are not the only players in creating inflation, and at least some of the inflation last year was going to happen regardless of monetary and budgetary decisions, and regardless of shipping backlogs that were one one's fault, simply because there was no supply of things like chips.

But, imo, it does change the political calculations Biden has to make.

The current COLA for SS 2024 is 3.1% which means inflation is lower.
Personally, I'm not much negatively affected by inlation, as it is currently, although I need a new/used car in the next 3 years. But polling does show someting like 75% of Americans not happy with the econ ... and that bodes very well for Trump.
