Right wingers are ALL for states' rights.......except......

I am really starting to hate Mr. Beauregard. He is the typical Jesus Nazi, who also bows to the alcohol industry.

Probably, good ol' Sessions, is trying to show his pissed-off boss that he is doing something beside recusing himself.

Well, except when it comes to:

A woman's right to choose
Voting rights
Legalization of Marijuana
Drilling off-shore

(add your own "exceptions"...........)

Call it abortion rights, stop trying to soft sell it.
How does having to present an easily obtainable ID quash voting rights?
A lot of people on the right support state level regulation.
Doesn't a States control of waters end a certain distance off their shore, and the feds control the rest? hasn't it always been this way?

It is called the "right to choose" because the person has a choice of two alternatives: abort the pregnancy or carry it to term. I have a good friend who has had diabetes all her life, got pregnant in spite of an IUD, and decided to go ahead with the pregnancy despite her doctors' dire warnings. This caused a very dangerous situation both for her and the fetus, and she was quite torn up physically. She said that she has not regretted her decision, but that it wasn't for everybody. People make these choices based on their own thoughts and beliefs. They may consult with someone whose opinion they respect. This is not a matter for government.

How does a gun registry quash gun rights ?

they love states rights when they can discriminate against anyone who isn't white male and christian or when they can shove their religion down others' throats.

shhhhh.... the NRA tells them what to say.

Okay. They deserved that.

But, there are other reasons to allow individual states to make decisions on local issues. It's not all about making everybody love Jesus.

and the rules as to when they can do that have been pretty clear for a very long time. what they don't get to do is grant fewer rights in the states than the federal government grants. that's the rule.... or it has been

Would you agree to removing all restrictions (including firearm type) on those who register their guns and pass a background check? If you know who has what gun and that person passed a background check, that person should be safe to possess automatic weapons, no?

So, do you have a problem with California having stricter gun laws than the Federal Government?

There’s no purpose for an auto weapon other than to kill lots of people in a short time .

BUT, I would be cool wh letting go of clip and gun amount limitations.

it doesn't. the only thing Heller prohibits is a total ban.

what is a problem are loonies who don't regulate guns allowing their guns into my state.

you're not one of those people who thinks someone crazy should be allowed to have a gun, are you? or a child molestor? domestic abuser? felon?

There's no purpose for a lot of things, but if we can use them safely and responsibly, why can't we have them?

There are no "clip" and gun amount limitations now.
:dunno:

I believe some states limit clip sizes and the amount of guns you can buy in a certain time frame .

What is a safe and responsible use of an automatic weapon?

They are gun nuts . They’d have guns available out of vending machines . Gun rights!!!

But they sure sing a different tune when it comes to protecting voter rights .

The law making marijuana a federal crine was on the books long before Trump came to office. By ignoring the law obama did nothing to help medical or recreational users. By enforcing the law he is forcing congress to rewrite the law making it a states right issue. Trump is a law and order guy even if he disagrees with the law. It is up to Congress to change the law not Trump or Sessions, they took an oath requireing them to enforce the laws we have on the books. Write Congress, if the states want the law changed Congress is the only way to make it happen.
