America is not a democracy it's a Republic.
Hold it right there! Dictionary trouble...America is not a democracy it's a Republic.
Well, I thought I would look about some articles and stories on country's freedoms and liberties. The link I'll post is off Wikipedia that lists all countries against the freedom indices.

The interesting part is, us in the UK are often reminded by some US citizens on how much controlled we are in the UK and how free Americans are. I took a screenshot of the UK beside the US -

And yet the head of state hardly matters.
A country with a Monarchy has a King or Queen as it's head of State. A Republic has a President as it's head of State. A democracy relates to the people making laws/electing representatives to make laws, to have a vote etc..
