Romney and GOP in Panic After Unemployment drops to 7.8%

Not in the mood to read through 14 pages so has anyone explained to the mental midgets here WHY the unemployment rate "went down"? Its because people have given up looking for work and thus they don't count as unemployed anymore...

Coincidences happen. A .3 drop all in one month regarding an issue key to Obama's reelection after a poor debate performance after 40 odd months of being above 8% ... why would anyone pause even for a second. Especially when this administration has been so transparent and all.

:eusa_shhh:
then we wouldn't get threads with titles like this one
don't you know we are ALL IN A PANIC over something

Within days of reports of over 300k new unemployment clams, for LAST WEEK and Scott whats his name TV news anchor hardly able to say.Looks like the economy is growing slower than we thought.

Shuck meet jive

Actually, discouraged workers are counted in the U-4 rate, which is 8.3%, down from 8.6% in August, not 11% as Willard the Liar claimed today.

hey now, Obama got unemployment down to 7.8 % AFTER Four years in office, You all run right out and vote for him again:lol:

The Labor Department, based on a broad survey of employers, said 114,000 jobs were added in September.

But the unemployment rate itself is based on a separate "household survey," which showed a whopping 873,000 new jobs in September.

"This must be an anomaly," former Congressional Budget Office director Doug Holtz-Eakin said in a snap analysis of the numbers. "It is out of line with any of the other data.."
Holtz-Eakin noted the household survey is smaller, suggesting it is not as reliable. He called estimate of 873,000 new jobs "implausible."
He said the report was otherwise "solid," but reflected "the economy is merely moving sideways."

I will vote you obama, cause I can not vote for a flip flopper(rememeber that bush argument) and also I do not support a nazi state.

your link was FAUX news.

Panic? Panic over an alleged drop in the unemployment rate?

Pfft.

I just wish it were true. It's not, of course. But it would be nice.

“This is not what a real recovery looks like. We created fewer jobs in September than in August, and fewer jobs in August than in July, and we’ve lost over 600,000 manufacturing jobs since President Obama took office. If not for all the people who have simply dropped out of the labor force, the real unemployment rate would be closer to 11%. The results of President Obama's failed policies are staggering – 23 million Americans struggling for work, nearly one in six living in poverty and 47 million people dependent on food stamps to feed themselves and their families. The choice in this election is clear. Under President Obama, we’ll get another four years like the last four years. If I’m elected, we will have a real recovery with pro-growth policies that will create 12 million new jobs and rising incomes for everyone.”

I doubt they are panicking. I do know it changed the conversation from Obama's supposed loss in the debate however. The rate is not important; the drowning out of Romney's "victory" is the real problem.

LOL, good to know they were WORRIED about the debates...like this small drop in Unemployment is going to take peoples minds off their struggles under this administration

Oh and there are a couple MORE DEBATES, you all better hope your dear leader at least takes the time to learn a few things about the job he has:lol:

He's empty without the teleprompter

Right, career bureaucrats have no incentive to fudge numbers that would help grow their ranks. You're a stone cold logician...

So, you feel that all government workers have a vested interest in seeing the Obama administration succeed, because the Obama administration will generally grow their ranks?

Even though the number of public sector employees has in fact decreased significantly during the Obama administration?

And you feel that this provides enough motivation for the 15 Economists, who are not politically appointed, to risk their careers by committing fraud?

Really?

More people aren't back to work. It's another obamalie.

Fortunately, the majority of the public sees this as the fabrication that it is. It's as true as Al Queade being decimated.

WE ALL KNOW OBama will increase Government if re-elected, he ALREADY did with OBamaCare when we could least AFFORD IT

vote this man out of office, we CAN'T AFFORD him another four years

and the +873K number comes from the former while the +114K number comes from the latter. The media usually reminds readers/viewers that the Household survey is considered less reliable than the Establishments survey … at least during Republican administrations:

Every single story, in every single media outlet, the New York Times, Reuters, the Washington Post, has included this fact in their coverage.

Observe:

The New York Times

The household survey, which showed a whopping increase of 873,000 people working, is much more volatile and prone to sampling error.

Incorrect. The number of people looking for work actually went up.

You mean this Douglas Holtz-Eakin?

former chief economic policy adviser to U.S. Senator John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign.

Mitt has already told his first lie about this. He said the drop was due to people leaving the job market, when facts do not support him. He just makes up answers and facts as he goes along.

So, you feel the fact that Obama increased the number of people working in the field of medical insurance in government, was sufficient motivation for 15 non-appointee economists, working in a completely different department, to commit fraud?
