S.E Cupp: Trump and the GOP in tatters

I said way back in the beginning of 2016 that if Trump were to get the nomination and actually pull off a win he'd bring long term destruction to the Republican Party. It unfolded exactly as predicted.
Where, pray tell, is this destruction? If he didn't destroy the GOP in 2020 do you think he will in the mid-terms? I think the GOP will take back both houses.

Did you read the whole article?

Excerpt:

Was it worth the near-constant embarrassments of an ignorant, dishonest, petulant and puerile president who humiliated our country on the world stage with his gross incompetence and undignified antics?

Was it worth losing any moral or ethical high ground the party could once claim by ignoring or defending a whole catalog of terrible behavior, from multiple allegations of rape to orphaning migrant children, interfering in U.S. elections to inciting violence at the Capitol?

Republicans long ago made the Faustian bargain to put up with all of that in exchange for things they insisted were worth Trump’s many troubles, including tax cuts, conservative judges, moving the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and more.

But now, as Biden takes office and Democrats take control of Congress, most of those things appear to have been fleeting. Indeed, the short-term sugar high of Trump’s perceived accomplishments is about to come crashing down.

In just the first 10 days of his presidency, Biden has already promised to undo a long list of Trump acts, according to Chief of Staff Ron Klain.

Remember how excited Republicans got when Trump unceremoniously pulled out of the Paris climate accord? Biden can rejoin it without much ceremony, and likely will.

He can also rejoin the Iran nuclear deal that Trump quit in 2017, a move Republicans applauded at the time.

Biden can reverse Trump’s travel ban, which prohibited travel to and from some Muslim-majority countries, a policy Republicans like Sen. Ted Cruz insisted had nothing to do with religion or ethnicity but was merely in the “interest of national security.”

As part of his covid-19 relief plan, Biden can rejoin the World Health Organization, and plans to extend eviction and foreclosure restrictions and increase the federal minimum wage.

He’ll overhaul many of Trump’s anti-immigrant policies like family separation, and restore the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. He can relax the process of applying for extending visas.

Trump was unable to repeal and replace Obamacare, as he promised, but he did manage to chip away at some of its provisions. Biden can restore and strengthen many of those via executive actions.
Did you see the down-ballot results?

Yep. I did. And on the morning of November 4th, Republicans woke up to find they dodged a bullet. The previous night should have been the end of their party. Instead, people focused on the main problem and took out the trash (Trump). But, like Republicans always seem to do, instead of finding ways to re-invent their party and start making policy that helps the average worker (you know, to increase their popularity), they chose to be even bigger sycophants and enablers as Trump whining, bitched, moaned, threatened, and sued his way across 6 states trying to get the election overturned. He tries to get GA officials to "find him 11,870 votes". He goes on a war against these so called "RINOs" and anyone he perceives as an enemy on his side of the aisle and costs Republicans the two GA Senate seats and control of the Senate. He encourages and then eggs on a violent insurrection on January 6th. All the while his willing enablers look on in silence or stand with him in solidarity.

All those bullets dodged? All that momentum Republicans gained on 11/3/2020....is GONE. What are they left with? Dr. Suess, Mr. Potato Head...and Brittany Spears! :auiqs.jpg:
They have nothing. Trump has succeeded in tearing the party apart. Works for me. :)
They've got most state houses and governorships, SCOTUS, half the Senate and increased their share of the House. More than that, they still have Trump while the Dems have Biden.

Works for me.
LOL

The GOP lost the White House, the House AND the Senate. What exactly are you celebrating? Coming in second place in a two party race?

Conservative columnist S.E. Cupp writes of the downfall of Donald Trump and the GOP:

Trump’s legacy was in tatters before he lost to Joe Biden, but in the ensuing months, he really managed to burn it to the ground. Historians, even without the benefit of hindsight, have already declared him the worst president in American history.

Let’s not forget, Trump also leaves a big stink-bomb of a parting gift to the GOP — Democratic control of both houses of Congress.

This all raises the question: Was it worth it, Republicans? Was carrying Trump’s fetid water around for four years worth the baggage, the guilt by association or, in some cases, the actual guilt of doing Trump’s dirty work?

Was it worth the impeachments — plural — the current and sure-to-come lawsuits, the resignations, the revolving door of users, losers and grifters?

Was it worth the domestic terrorism — a rise during Trump’s tenure of white supremacy and anti-Semitic attacks, and a revolt at the Capitol that left five people dead?

Was it worth the near-constant embarrassments of an ignorant, dishonest, petulant and puerile president who humiliated our country on the world stage with his gross incompetence and undignified antics?

Was it worth losing any moral or ethical high ground the party could once claim by ignoring or defending a whole catalog of terrible behavior, from multiple allegations of rape to orphaning migrant children, interfering in U.S. elections to inciting violence at the Capitol?

Not to worry the Ds will F things up and lose control of both houses, possibly in 2022. That is if the pattern of the last few decades holds true.

Trump was the best thing to happen to the D party. Now they must rule and they suck at that.
LOL

You’re going to be very disappointed in Biden and the Ds. He won’t be any different from Don on the major issues, but you won’t see it because the msm will dupe you. Don’t fall for the elite’s trap.

Doubt I'll be disappointed. I'm not expecting him to accomplish anything. He's half senile. I don't even think he'll serve an entire term.

I didn't vote for Joe the Somnolent. If the man fucks up, as expected, it will be on the Never Trumpers not I.

This is what they wanted.

I think they might say it was worth it.

They MATTERED for four years. They were somebody for once.

I said way back in the beginning of 2016 that if Trump were to get the nomination and actually pull off a win he'd bring long term destruction to the Republican Party. It unfolded exactly as predicted.
70 million voted for trump. thanks.

81 million voted for Biden.

And if you subtract the fraudulent ones, he stole the election. Democrats have turned the United States into a third world tin pot dictatorship. And are using fascism to keep it that way

There were no fraudulent votes of any great number. Republicans tried to steal a election and install Trump illegally.
Says the projection party hahaha 20 million fraud ballots

When you find them how about turning them over to a Judge and Court. That would be a first.
I know where they are, the states are holding them hostage. They aren’t theirs, they’re ours.

I heard Neil DeGrasse prove that you CAN prove a negative. So let's prove it now.

The first thing we do is prove what we know. The "Evidence" has never been presented to a Court of Law
We know that the "Proof" that has been presented to the Courts have been hearsay or speculation.
When asked directly if Rudy had proof of Fraud, his answer was that he had no proof of any Fraud
The Courts all discounted the "Speculation" because speculation is not admissible in court.

According to the Scientific Method, I just proved a Negative. And in order to disprove my negative you would have to prove a positive which you have never done. Ain't science grand.

20,000,000 fraudulent ballots?:auiqs.jpg:Get off the glue, Dude.

It's clearly realistic if you look at the raw number of votes Obama got and the complete lack of interest in Biden and the massive fraud in blue states

But the critical few million where the fraud ballots in the half dozen toss up States where Democrats stole the election. They were all statistically toss ups, and Democrats threw a "heads" every time

I'm pretty sure they believe stuff like this.

What a weird moment in our history.

Democrats removed all accountability, then didn't cheat. And then you threw heads in every one of a half dozen toss up elections. SSSSSSSSSSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE they did. No one is as stupid as you are

No doubt they believe their own lies.

Lying to you fascists is just a pretext. You always have an excuse for your violence and fraud. And they are always standards that don't apply to you

All it takes is forensic audit of the ballots. Hiding them implies fraud. That’s logical

Yes, Democrats fight tooth and nail to ensure we don't verify there was no fraud
