Opposing Authoritarian Ideological Fundamentalism.
Good, this should be interesting. I strongly suspect a clear delineation between democratic socialism and pure socialism to help clarify the national conversation:

Sanders planning ‘major speech’ on democratic socialism, he tells Iowa supporters

He does try here: What is a democratic socialist? Bernie Sanders tries to redefine the name.

“What democratic socialism means to me,” Sanders said during a recent speech in New Hampshire, “is having a government which represents all people, rather than just the wealthiest people, which is most often the case right now in this country.”

What that doesn't cover is control over ownership and means of distribution. I guess we'll see.
.

So mister RAISE TAXES ON EVERYONE TO PAY FOR MORE FREEBIES socialist Sanders is in full back peddle/damage control mode.

Should have seen this coming.

It's 2015. Why does there need to be a national conversation at all?

Because Sanders, and Clinton for that matter, are pushing a fundamental change in the American way. It is time to highlight that that's what this is.

Well, his cut and pasted quote is complete bullshit.

So Correll tell us what you think democratic socialism is?
"Democratic socialism rejects the social democratic view of reform through state intervention within capitalism, seeing capitalism as inherently incompatible with the democratic values of freedom, equality and solidarity. Democratic socialists believe that the issues inherent to capitalism can only be solved by transitioning from capitalism to socialism, by superseding private property with some form of social ownership, with any attempt to address the economic contradictions of capitalism through reforms only likely to generate more problems elsewhere in the capitalist economy.[4][5]"

From wiki.

Who said this;

"We are socialists,we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions.”

Basically Democratic socialism turns everyone into a tenant, and the ruling class into the landlords.

Because there is a clear momentum for it, and the GOP ignores it at their peril.

WTF? That was incoherent, even for you.
Whose fault is it that Sanders is gaining momentum by promising to turn America into Venezuela? I dunno? Bush?

So mister RAISE TAXES ON EVERYONE TO PAY FOR MORE FREEBIES socialist Sanders is in full back peddle/damage control mode.

Should have seen this coming.

Sanders will not raise taxes on everyone, only those who will not notice the tax due to their overabundance of wealth. In other words, the one percent mostly.

Poor "conservatives"! They've expended so much time and energy hating on Clinton, and now they've got to divide their hate equally between two candidates.

Must be exhausting.

Yes. We need to reflect on what an economy is supposed to accomplish. It is not supposed to make a small group of people rich while ignoring everyone else. Everyone has a right to earn a living for their families.

There isn't enough money up there to pay for everything he wants government to do. The middle/upper middle class will have to be taxed as well.

The typical progressive mantra of "let other people pay for it" continues. What can't continue is the idea that the money will never run out.

Every time "socialism" has been implemented, the only change is the small group who benefits changes from one bunch of oligarchs to another.

Agreed.

Bernie is good at identifying the problem, but his solution will only make things worse for most of us.
