SEALs slam Obama for taking credit for bin Laden

ROTFL Khalid Sheikh Mohammed had nothign to do with finding Bin Laden. Next time you decide to amke shit up at least put some effort into making it not totally bogus

According to one of the CIA officers, who just wrote a book, claims that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed gave them information about the courier, but not because he gave them information. To the contrary, he told them he never heard of the guy, and then communicated to the rest of al Qaeda in the prison to shut up about the man. Waterboarding had nothing to do with this.

Thats a damn lie... but then again, Im not surprised.

So you get to pick and choose which CIA agents are truthful and honest and discard those that disagree with your position?? Got it.

Remarks by the President on Osama Bin Laden | The White House

The White House
Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release May 02, 2011 Remarks by the President on Osama Bin Laden
East Room 11:35 P.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT: Good evening. Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of al Qaeda, and a terrorist who’s responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women, and children.

(He simply can't help himself... Opens it with an I... A Tone setter, I Assure you... - tha malcontent)

It was nearly 10 years ago that a bright September day was darkened by the worst attack on the American people in our history. The images of 9/11 are seared into our national memory -- hijacked planes cutting through a cloudless September sky; the Twin Towers collapsing to the ground; black smoke billowing up from the Pentagon; the wreckage of Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where the actions of heroic citizens saved even more heartbreak and destruction.

And yet we know that the worst images are those that were unseen to the world. The empty seat at the dinner table. Children who were forced to grow up without their mother or their father. Parents who would never know the feeling of their child’s embrace. Nearly 3,000 citizens taken from us, leaving a gaping hole in our hearts.

On September 11, 2001, in our time of grief, the American people came together. We offered our neighbors a hand, and we offered the wounded our blood. We reaffirmed our ties to each other, and our love of community and country. On that day, no matter where we came from, what God we prayed to, or what race or ethnicity we were, we were united as one American family.

(Really?... Yet your Wife was never Prouder of this Country than when YOU were Elected... Yep... Not when America came together after 9/11. - tha malcontent)

We were also united in our resolve to protect our nation and to bring those who committed this vicious attack to justice. We quickly learned that the 9/11 attacks were carried out by al Qaeda -- an organization headed by Osama bin Laden, which had openly declared war on the United States and was committed to killing innocents in our country and around the globe. And so we went to war against al Qaeda to protect our citizens, our friends, and our allies.

(We did NOT Specifically go to War Against al Qaeda, and that War was Declared on US by al Qaeda in 1996... Just for the Record - tha malcontent)

Over the last 10 years, thanks to the tireless and heroic work of our military and our counterterrorism professionals, we’ve made great strides in that effort. We’ve disrupted terrorist attacks and strengthened our homeland defense. In Afghanistan, we removed the Taliban government, which had given bin Laden and al Qaeda safe haven and support. And around the globe, we worked with our friends and allies to capture or kill scores of al Qaeda terrorists, including several who were a part of the 9/11 plot.

(I Love how Barry includes himself in the "we" for the 10 years of things he has only overseen 2 of... Using the System put in place by Bush. As for "part of the 9/11 plot"... KSM was the Mastermind of 9/11, NOT bind Laden... The previous Administration caught him early and often, something Clinton FAILED to do from 1993 to 2001 after KSM had Attacked the Trade Center the first in on February of 1993, Killing Americans, but I Digress... - tha malcontent)

Yet Osama bin Laden avoided capture and escaped across the Afghan border into Pakistan. Meanwhile, al Qaeda continued to operate from along that border and operate through its affiliates across the world.

(Ah... Barry isn't saying "we" in that Observation... Illustrative. - tha malcontent)

And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as we continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network.

Then, last August, after years of painstaking work by our intelligence community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan. And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice.

Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. A small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability. No Americans were harmed. They took care to avoid civilian casualties. After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body.

(Barry likes to take Personal Credit a lot, don't he... Wait to see the Contrast of how Bush announced the Capture of Saddam. - tha malcontent)

For over two decades, bin Laden has been al Qaeda’s leader and symbol, and has continued to plot attacks against our country and our friends and allies. The death of bin Laden marks the most significant achievement to date in our nation’s effort to defeat al Qaeda.

WRONG... KSM's Capture, the Mastermind behind 9/11 was... bin Laden Denied Involvement in 9/11 repeatedly after it happened, something Terrorists NEVER do...

Yet his death does not mark the end of our effort. There’s no doubt that al Qaeda will continue to pursue attacks against us. We must –- and we will -- remain vigilant at home and abroad.

As we do, we must also reaffirm that the United States is not –- and never will be -– at war with Islam. I’ve made clear, just as President Bush did shortly after 9/11, that our war is not against Islam. Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader; he was a mass murderer of Muslims. Indeed, al Qaeda has slaughtered scores of Muslims in many countries, including our own. So his demise should be welcomed by all who believe in peace and human dignity.

Over the years, I’ve repeatedly made clear that we would take action within Pakistan if we knew where bin Laden was. That is what we’ve done. But it’s important to note that our counterterrorism cooperation with Pakistan helped lead us to bin Laden and the compound where he was hiding. Indeed, bin Laden had declared war against Pakistan as well, and ordered attacks against the Pakistani people.

Tonight, I called President Zardari, and my team has also spoken with their Pakistani counterparts. They agree that this is a good and historic day for both of our nations. And going forward, it is essential that Pakistan continue to join us in the fight against al Qaeda and its affiliates.

(Good Lord, Barry is all about himself... Wait for how Bush Announced the Capture of Saddam after this. - tha malcontent)

The American people did not choose this fight. It came to our shores, and started with the senseless slaughter of our citizens. After nearly 10 years of service, struggle, and sacrifice, we know well the costs of war. These efforts weigh on me every time I, as Commander-in-Chief, have to sign a letter to a family that has lost a loved one, or look into the eyes of a service member who’s been gravely wounded.

(All about Barry... Shameless. - tha malcontent)

So Americans understand the costs of war. Yet as a country, we will never tolerate our security being threatened, nor stand idly by when our people have been killed. We will be relentless in defense of our citizens and our friends and allies. We will be true to the values that make us who we are. And on nights like this one, we can say to those families who have lost loved ones to al Qaeda’s terror: Justice has been done.

Tonight, we give thanks to the countless intelligence and counterterrorism professionals who’ve worked tirelessly to achieve this outcome. The American people do not see their work, nor know their names. But tonight, they feel the satisfaction of their work and the result of their pursuit of justice.

(Oh yeah, about those people who have been doing the Work since before I was a LESS-THAN-ONE-TERM Senator... - tha malcontent)

We give thanks for the men who carried out this operation, for they exemplify the professionalism, patriotism, and unparalleled courage of those who serve our country. And they are part of a generation that has borne the heaviest share of the burden since that September day.

Finally, let me say to the families who lost loved ones on 9/11 that we have never forgotten your loss, nor wavered in our commitment to see that we do whatever it takes to prevent another attack on our shores.

And Barry wants you to Know what a Burden it's been for him also... You know, having to notify the occasionally Family when a Good Photo OP or Positive Press is Needed.

And tonight, let us think back to the sense of unity that prevailed on 9/11. I know that it has, at times, frayed. Yet today’s achievement is a testament to the greatness of our country and the determination of the American people.

(So the Killing of bin Laden, which was Obviously Barry's doing, not only was it Amazing that he could get it done when Boooosh couldn't for a Decade, but it's also going to bring America back together after Boooosh split us?... Classic Barry! - tha malcontent)

The cause of securing our country is not complete. But tonight, we are once again reminded that America can do whatever we set our mind to. That is the story of our history, whether it’s the pursuit of prosperity for our people, or the struggle for equality for all our citizens; our commitment to stand up for our values abroad, and our sacrifices to make the world a safer place.

Let us remember that we can do these things not just because of wealth or power, but because of who we are: one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Thank you. May God bless you. And may God bless the United States of America.

Now... Contrast the above with Bush when Saddam was Captured:

Transcript of Bush speech on Saddam's capture

Sunday, December 14, 2003 Posted: 1757 GMT ( 1:57 AM HKT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Bush on Sunday delivered a television address on the capture of Saddam Hussein, saying that the toppled Iraqi leader would not threaten Iraqis ever again and congratulating U.S. forces.

Following is a transcript of the speech:

BUSH: Good afternoon.

Yesterday, December the 13th, at around 8:30 p.m. Baghdad time, United States military forces captured Saddam Hussein alive. He was found near a farmhouse outside the city of Tikrit in a swift raid conducted without casualties. And now the former dictator of Iraq will face the justice he denied to millions.

(Who did it?... That's right, the Boots on the Ground did it. Bush doesn't let you know that he Authorized it, nor did he take Possession of other's Actions, like Barry did regarding bin Laden. - tha malcontent)

The capture of this man was crucial to the rise of a free Iraq. It marks the end of the road for him and for all who bullied and killed in his name.

For the Baathist holdouts largely responsible for the current violence, there will be no return to the corrupt power and privilege they once held.

For the vast majority of Iraqi citizens who wish to live as free men and women, this event brings further assurance that the torture chambers and the secret police are gone forever.

And this afternoon, I have a message for the Iraqi people: You will not have to fear the rule of Saddam Hussein ever again.

(The first "I" by Bush... - tha malcontent)

All Iraqis who take the side of freedom have taken the winning side. The goals of our coalition are the same as your goals: sovereignty for your country, dignity for your great culture, and for every Iraqi citizen, the opportunity for a better life.

In the history of Iraq, a dark and painful era is over. A hopeful day has arrived. All Iraqis can now come together and reject violence and build a new Iraq.

The success of yesterday's mission is a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq. The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the dictator's footprints in a vast country.

(Again, Bush is Selfless, as compared with the Childlike Credit taking of Barry in his Speech. - tha malcontent)

The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a brave fighting force. Our service men and women and our coalition allies have faced many dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen regime and in their effort to bring hope and freedom to the Iraqi people.

Their work continues, and so do the risks.

Today, on behalf of the nation, I thank the members of our armed forces, and I congratulate them.

(The only thing he is saying "I" for his for his Thanks and Congratulations to the People who did the Work... Unlike Barry. - tha malcontent)

I also have a message for all Americans: The capture of Saddam Hussein does not mean the end of violence in Iraq. We still face terrorists who would rather go on killing the innocent than accept the rise of liberty in the heart of the Middle East. Such men are a direct threat to the American people, and they will be defeated.

We've come to this moment through patience and resolve and focused action, and that is our strategy moving forward. The war on terror is a different kind of war, waged capture by capture, cell by cell and victory by victory.

Our security is assured by our perseverance and by our sheer belief in the success of liberty. And the United States of America will not relent until this war is won.

May God bless the people of Iraq, and may God bless America.

(I remember when the Left who cringe when Bush would Invoke God like that... Yet Barry does it all of the time and not a word. But then again he's Started a 3rd War of Choice in Libya since taking Office while hasn't Closed Gitmo nor stopped (43)'s Wars, even AFTER the Killing of bin Laden, so... - tha malcontent)

Thank you.

---

(The only time Bush says I or refers to himself is when he's Thanking those who actually did the Work or Speaking DIRECTLY to people. Not ONE time did he take Credit as Commander in Chief... What an Asshat our current President is... And a long-winded one at that. If you don't see the difference between those (2) Speeches, then you are simply a Leftist Partisan Hack. - tha malcontent)

And that's that...

Obama is a Shameless Stain on the Office.

:)

peace...

So how do you refer to yourself?? DO you never use the words "I" to describe yourself or "my" to refer to something that you are in charge of or own?

BTW I find it funny that the we's us' and our's seem to outnumber the I's and my's but why didn' YOU notice that??I underlined them for you.

Your desperate need to take obama out of context to prove a poltiical point just goes to show how desperate and dishoenst you truly are.

“We were extremely surprised and discouraged by the publicity because it compromises the ability of those guys to operate..."

And yet he's speaking to a news reporter?

This really is fishy.

Sure its possible these guys said these things but highly unlikely.

Really??? You doubt they said it??? Prove they didnt if ya can... because I would love to know if I am being lied to.
Until then, deal with it. They said it.

You just cant stand the FACT that these guys are pissed at their CIC for compromising their lives and their jobs.

Obama does not know what its like to be a real hero like the men he 'commands'...
:eusa_whistle:

Funny how you don't hold yourself to the same standard of proof that you do those who disagree with you.

Thats a damn lie... but then again, Im not surprised.

so where is your proof?

The Right and the Republicans are understandably hysterical about this because they simply can't believe that the Democratic party is passing them on national security/foreign policy/terrorism issues.

In short, they're fucked and they know it.

Wrong again... I hate that Obama is using them for a campaign tool. Apparently they dont like it either :dunno:

And No... we are not fucked. Obama is desperate enough to do this, so WHO is fucked again??

really?? so when did obama trot "them" out and use "them" as a campaign tool? WEre these seals that are allegedly compainging even part of the team that klilled bin laden??

If not then what are they whining about?? Or are they just trying to score political points, the same reason that they claim to be using to criticize obama?

Whatever.... prove the link is a fraud and then get back to us.

Until then deal with it.

Prove that the anonymous quotes were made by real Seals.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/nav...ver-politicizing-bin-laden-raid-a-no-brainer/

Ryan Zinke, a former 23-year SEAL that is now a Republican state Senator from Montana:

“The decision was a no brainer. I applaud him for making it but I would not overly pat myself on the back for making the right call. I think every president would have done the same. He is justified in saying it was his decision but the preparation, the sacrifice — it was a broader team effort.”
For someone not currently engulfed in politics on the other side, let’s go to Clint Bruce, who “gave up the chance of an NFL career to serve as a SEAL officer,” according to the Mail:

“We were extremely surprised and discouraged by the publicity because it compromises the ability of those guys to operate. It’s a waste of time to speculate about who would and wouldn’t have made that decision. It was a symphony of opportunity and intelligence that allowed this administration to give the green light. We want to acknowledge that they made that decision.“Politicians should let the public know where they stand on national security but not in the play-by-play, detailed way that has been done recently. The intricacies of national security should not become part of stump speeches.”

anonymous quotes huh???
:cuckoo:

He is a republican who had nothing to do with the event in question trying to exploit his FORMER position for poltical gain and that pretty much says it all.

The SEALs can say anything they want.

Yeah, if they want a dishonorable discharge :wtf:

There are consequences to anyone's actions; no doubt. I think most SEALs are apolitical or lean toward the right. Orders are orders regardless of what party the President is from.

I, however, will not begrduge any SEAL from stating their opinion.

That being said, like with anyone, an opinion is certainly something that carries weight. It however, isn't everything.

I think Obama gets credit/blame for what his military does during his term. Just like Carter got the blame for the botched rescue attempt.

teapeespamaroid applauds traitorous behavior. How unsurprising.

I doubt any SEALS did such a thing as they tend to be professional and loyal to the USA.
What "traitorous behavior" are you referring to?

And, you do know that being loyal to a president and to the USA are not the same thing, right? You DO know that, right?

The issue addressed, Si, is the issue of some supposed active duty SEAL bad mouthing the President. Color me sceptical that that even happened.

says the hack using a link that misquotes panetta. At no time did panetta say "oh yeah waterboarding was used"

He consistently said enhanced interogation techniques and not specifically waterboarding and then at the end of the clip williams asked if the euphamism "enhanced interogation techniques" include waterboarding and he says yes.

not that it is what contributed to finding bin laden but that waterbaording is considered part of "enhanced interogation techniques."

al-qahtani was not waterboarded but according to what I have read he was the one that led to the courier.

How about Extraordinary Rendition?...

It's OK to look the other way once you've dropped off the people you would have Waterboarded here in a place that's FAR worse when it comes to Interrogation...

Liberals are some of the most Dishonest People in History.

:)

peace...

WOW Thanks for running away coward. Why no comment on what I actually said as you sidestepped and tried to change the subject??
You run away from what I actually said, post a desperate sidestep and then call me dishonest based on something that I never said. LOL

the claims about what panetta actually said as well as the ones about KSM and waterboarding leading to bin laden are false. Running away as you try to change the subject won't change that.
It's ok keep running coward. LOL

What about Pannetta?

You idiots just dont want to admit your wrong... Fuck, Carney said it too, in so many words
:doubt:

Carney on Enhanced Interrogation Methods - YouTube

In so many words?? really?? I heard him say ""enhanced interogation techniques" but I did not hear the words "waterboarding" or "KSM" come out of his mouth so where do you get your info??

what in carney's comments translates to ksm being waterboarded led to bin laden? Specifics please.

You guys refuse to deal in reality.... Im done watching ya contort every which way to defend Obama using the heroes as campaign props.

If he had his way over the past several years we would not have found Osama yet. He was against the techniques that DID lead to his capture and death.

LOL so you "contort" and make false claims about carney's words and then when asked to defend your lies you try to attack me personally.

Why is it that you rightwingers have such a difficult time defending your own words??

al-qahtani led to the courier. Funny how you continue to pretend that he never existed becuase it doesn't fiut your spin.

The file for the Guantanamo detainee, Muhammad Mani al-Qahtani, who was to have been the "20th hijacker" on 9/11, contains a reference to the key US intelligence thread that led directly to bin Laden.

According to the file, al-Kuwaiti provided al-Qahtani with computer training for the mission to attack the US in the summer of 2001. Al-Qahtani was told by the lead 9/11 hijacker, Muhammad Atta, “to make reservations and buy airline tickets to Orlando for five individuals” including himself.

What an embarrassment to the human race.

'Serving and former US Navy SEALs have slammed President Barack Obama for taking the credit for killing Osama bin Laden and accused him of using Special Forces operators as ‘ammunition’ for his re-election campaign.

The SEALs spoke out to MailOnline after the Obama campaign released an ad entitled ‘One Chance’.

SEALs slam Obama for using them as 'ammunition' in bid to take credit for bin Laden killing during election campaign | Mail Online

About time the real heroes put the Obamessiah in his place. He didn't do shit except nod his head. What a prick. Obama would not last through the first day of SEAL training.
As a matter of fact 99.99% of the human beings currently on the planet would wash out in the first week. So how dare Obama act as though HE went in a killed bin Shithead?
The son of a bitch never once acted in reverence to the men who risked their lives to get bib Shithead. Never thanked them. He should invite them to the Residence and break bread with them.

Margaret Thatcher drank beer out of the tin with the SAS team who'd rescued the hostages and killed the terrorists in the Iranian Embassy siege in London, 1980.

The problem with that is that the right would accuse him of using them as political props.

You guys refuse to deal in reality.... Im done watching ya contort every which way to defend Obama using the heroes as campaign props.

If he had his way over the past several years we would not have found Osama yet. He was against the techniques that DID lead to his capture and death.

How did you speak out against the ENTIRE USS Lincoln and her crew being used as campaign props?

I didnt because he didnt use them... :cuckoo:

And frankly, I thought it was stupid of them to not take that damn sign down. That was not intended for Bush to use... it was for the guys on the boat as their "Mission WAS accomplished".

Thanks for trying though.

so bush didn't use them as a prop even though his office printed the banner after they ahd lied about it?? Why was he there again? Did he do this for all ships? Face it, it was a poltical stunt and only a complete moron would try to argue otherwise.

"Admiral Kelly, Captain Card, officers and sailors of the USS Abraham Lincoln, my fellow Americans, major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed."

my fellow americans?? Seems to me like it's for more than just the ship.

And why was ok for Cheney in 2004 to claim that we'd be hit again if Kerry was elected president?

Why is ok for Romney to attack Obama on foreign policy, as a political campaign tactic, but it's not okay for Obama to defend himself?

EXACTLY.

According to them they can politicize it and attack him for it but obama is not allowed to cite examples to defend himself.

Obama saying 'I got Bin laden, neener-neener neeeeeeeeeeener!' is vastly different, and you know it.

Is that an exact quote and could you please cite a source that show obama saying what you quote him as saying?

Again why is it ok for the right to polticize our nationial security and foreign policy for poltical gain and not ok for obama to do the same?? Got a real explanation or are you finished attributing phony quotes to obama?

obama is making sure that we never again get the intelligence to capture the next Bin Ladin. The methods used to extract that kind of intelligence are illegal.

HUH?? What are you whining about??

Is this a repeat of the waterboarding of ksm BS?

You can deny 'enhanced interrogation techniques' had anything to do with it all ya want... I know Obama and Nancy were against them and should be held accountable for having them done away with.

If it were up to them Osama would still be on the loose and Gitmo would be closed down.

So still no proof of your claims concerning waterboarding and ksm?? Got it. thanks again for nothing. LOL

One year later and some still mourn OBL. Amazing, that.

that's a despicable thing to allege.

fuck you and your horse

It is not despicable if it does not apply to you. Just sayin'
Is there a poster here who mourns OBL's death, and who is that poster?

If you are talking about a public figure mourning OBL's death, who is that?

I can't think of anyone who is mourning OBL's death.

So, who are you talking about?

Bush could have got Bin Ladin in the Tora Bora's

And then failure number two

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/08/washington/08intel.html?_r=1

WASHINGTON, July 7 — A secret military operation in early 2005 to capture senior members of Al Qaeda in Pakistan’s tribal areas was aborted at the last minute after top Bush administration officials decided it was too risky and could jeopardize relations with Pakistan, according to intelligence and military officials.

And then Obama got Bin Ladin. Great Accomplishment. This gives Obama a slam dunk win when it comes to foreign policy. That's why the GOP are trying to downplay it.

This Seal is a Swiftboater. Wasn't the owner of Blackwater Mr. Prince a Seal too? BFD. They can be evil greedy bastards too.
