Senate Appears To Have Votes to Overturn Emergency Declaration

Why do Dimms give a shit if there is a physical barrier on the US southern border? Specifically?

The money part is a lie. So list real problems.

Why do Repubs give a shit if there is a physical barrier on the US southern border? Specifically?

The "it will work" part is a proven lie. So list real reasons.

I suspect they just support Trump's whims no matter how goofy those whims are.
Walls will slow them down. Kind of like a door lock at your house.
Idiot.

The money can be better spent other ways. We both know the only reason the right is pushing for that silly wall is because of Trump's dumb campaign promise. That promise is already broken anyway. Mexico isn't going to pay for any wall.
Its better than amnesty and shit.
I don't support the wall, i want to actually fix the system. Nevertheless, the arguments against the wall are stupid.

The arguments for the wall are stupid.

Rand Paul and three others have decided that they are “no” votes on the Emergency Declaration.

Senate Seems to Have Enough Votes to Reject Trump’s Emergency Declaration

The doesn’t seem to be enough to over-ride the assured Presidential veto however.

Yet.
lol After 58 national emergencies declared by every president since 1976 and thirteen by Obama and three previous national emergencies by Trump, Paul decided this was a good time to defend the Constitution?

His objection was to re-allocation of funds that were approved by Congress.
Can’t blame him.

A Democrat Congress promised to secure the border in 1986 and it remains unsecured to this day.

The right had complete control for the first 2 years of Trump's presidency. Why didn't you do anything at all to fix that? Didn't really care?

Because with the Senate rules, you needed 60 votes to pass a bill onto the president, that why.

That's his excuse for grabbing the spotlight. In fact, no money is being reallocated. The money will come from drug interdiction money held by the Treasury and from the military construction fund.

As something that will affect illegal immigration; yep.
As something that “defines” the nation (you can’t have a nation if you don’t have borders) yep since they don’t want one across the north border.
As something that will stop drugs? Absolutely.
As something that is national security? Perhaps although we’re under no danger from attack by nannies and gardeners. But in this day and age where you can make a bomb in your nation and drive it into ours? We do need a barrier against that.

Military construction funding was voting on by the Congress. It’s pretty clear that the intent of Congress was not the construction of the wall since that was a separate funding line item.

But that is what the Courts will eventually decide.

The military construction fund isn't a slush fund that can be tapped on a presidential whim. It was funded for specific military construction projects, and can not be redirected without some military reason to do so. We are not under attack, and there is no military reason to build a wall.

You can make a bomb in this nation just as easily, and not have to bother moving it.

There is no line item. The executive decides what should be built and how it should be built. Do you really believe he has to go back to Congress every time he wants to add another bathroom to a building? The money from the military construction fund is money that has not been previously allocated to other projects.

Dimms act like $6 billion is a lot of money, yet they have no problem with 2 trillion in wealth redistribution.

In fact, the allocation of the funds is done by the military under the direction of the President, and the money that will be used has not yet been allocated to other projects, so there is no problem using it to build the fence.

As for whether it is necessary, the Democrats clearly believed it was, right up until Trump agreed with them. In 2013, Chuck Schumer presented Senate bill S. 744 to the Senate and every Democrat in the Senate voted for it; the bill provided billions of dollars to build hundreds of miles of border fencing and billions more to buy hi tech equipment to make it into the kind of smart fence the President wants. After saying in her campaign, "I want to build bridges not walls":

In her book “Hard Choices,” Clinton said she supported the 2013 Senate immigration bill, S. 744, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act (page 459).

Clinton, “Hard Choices”: I only wish that the bipartisan bill passed in the Senate in 2013 reforming our immigration laws could have passed the House.

In addition to providing a path to citizenship for immigrants in the country illegally, the bill would have funded an enhanced border security plan, including additional border fencing.

FactChecking Clinton's Big Speech - FactCheck.org

It is clear the Democratic leaders have no real objection to building the border fence and are only putting on this theater because the President wants to make our southern border more secure.

SPECIFICALLY , I just want to send a message of exclusion to third worlders plus maybe slow down the invasion of the third world fifth column . Plus i don't like third worlders legal or illegal voting in USA Elections as their votes weaken my vote and the votes of young American and old Americans . Plus , i don't like the population growth Bulldog .
