Serious question: What kind of jobs are Republicans qualified for?

You've heard of Los Alamos nuclear facility, right?:

"Los Alamos is New Mexico's best educated community, proportionately, with 68.6% of adult residents (25 and older) holding an associate degree or higher, and 62.1% of adults possessing a bachelor's degree or higher (2000 Census).
There were 5,110 households out of which 31.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% were married couples living together, 6.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.0% were non-families. 29.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 2.89.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 24.8% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 28.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 101.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.1 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $71,536, and the median income for a family was $86,876. Males had a median income of $65,638 versus $39,352 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $34,240. About 2.4% of families and 3.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 2.6% of those under age 18 and 5.3% of those age 65 or over. 11.7% of Los Alamos citizens are millionaires, the highest rate in the country.[5]
The home ownership rate (owner-occupied housing units to total units) is 71.5%. After the Manhattan Project, the first sale of a private home in Los Alamos was made in 1965 by the US Government to William Overton, who bought a house on Manhattan Loop.[6]"

Ah, but the majority of (us citizen) lab employees are Republican. There are a lot of employees who aren't citizens...but the smart, educated, nuclear scientists..those guys are Republicans. Or at least...not democrat.

You don't know that. You are simply "guessing". But let's look at some facts, shall we?

This area has the largest number of millionaires per residents in the nation. Obviously, these are not going to be engineers. Even an engineer with many patents doesn't make money from those patents. That money goes to whoever is employing that engineer. Or scientist for that matter. If you were paid to landscape, you wouldn't own the shrubs. If you were paid to design, you wouldn't own the design.

The most damning facts of all are what Bush and the Republicans did to scientists from 2001 to 2008.

Rewriting The Science - CBS News

Many Key Federal Officials Quit Bush Administration On Principle

James Hansen and Mark Bowen on Censored Science : NPR

See what I mean? Scientists left the Bush administration in droves.

Now comes the curious question. Since 97% or more of scientists believe in evolution and only a few Republicans believe in evolution, then why would scientists belong to that party? Because they hate the gays? Because they don't like minorities? Because they are anti women's rights? Because they believe education is for snobs? Why would scientists want to belong to party that doesn't want "smart" or "elite" people? Scientists will never believe in "twinkle down" economics or whatever the right is calling that nonsense today. What does this Republican party have that would attract any reputable scientist?

You think there's no money in nuclear engineering?

Shows what you know.

“Los Alamos has been No. 1 for quite some time, at least five years,” Thompson said. “It’s because it’s a small area with a large percentage of highly educated and highly trained engineers and scientists.”
Los Alamos tops the list because of the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Says Kiplinger: “If it weren’t for the national laboratory, Los Alamos might be just another stagecoach stop in the desert. The facility, a powerhouse for weapons engineering, bioscience and other government research, is the dusty town’s largest employer. Top chemists, engineers and physicists have pulled in hefty paychecks here since 1943, when the lab launched the Manhattan Project.”"

I find it hilarious that someone so patently and obviously stupid repeatedly makes comments about how dumb Republicans are.

"In no other town in the country are more than 10 percent of households considered millionaires.
The Phoenix report says there are 17,950 households in Los Alamos, of which 885 are worth $1 million or more in liquid assets (which can be easily converted to cash, so real estate or retirement savings don’t count)."
...
“Our largest employer is the laboratory, and people make salaries appropriate with their skill levels. We have a very high academic requirement at the lab. We have a brain trust that’s unique, and they’re paid well.”
And the figures are relative. Los Alamos has the highest percentage of millionaires, but in terms of the actual number of rich people there, it isn’t even close to the runners-up. Naples has more than 12,000 millionaires, with an overall population of 321,520. No. 3 Bridgeport, Conn., has 29,713 millionaire households, who make up 8.8 percent of the community there."

...

"The Phoenix report also says nearly 130 Los Alamos households had at least $5 million in investable assets."

Enrollment at undergraduate and graduate programs has dwindled, and some nuclear engineering programs have merged with other disciplines or shut down altogether. The ones that did survive shifted their focus to more lucrative fields within nuclear research, such as radiation detection or medical physics. According to the American Nuclear Society, 65 nuclear engineering programs existed in the country in 1980; now there is less than half that.

But in recent months, nuclear has re-emerged as a much ballyhooed energy source, and the entire community is scrambling to stave off what could be a massive shortage of qualified workers if the demand for nuclear power does take off. With an aging workforce, including many workers who are near retirement, the ANS estimates that 700 nuclear engineers need to graduate per year to support the potential demand. The organization currently expects only 249 new engineers to be available each year.

The New Hot Job: Nuclear Engineering - US News and World Report

With Republicans working at a fever pitch to reduce the number of teachers and slash education, it seems "odd" they would insist they are the most educated.

It's like slashing military health care and benefits and then insisting they support the military the most. It is only in their delusional minds can you have it both ways.

Are Republicans ever going to give examples of "conservative scientists"? Why do they deny the 6%? Do they or don't they believe in "mystical creation" and believe science is a "faith"?

Your premise is flawed. Maybe if you studied statistics you'd be able to understand that.

In general, conservative scientists tend to concentrate their work in application roles instead of broad research roles. Profit-driven organizations employ millions of scientists and they tend to be conservative because their political outlook does not preclude them from being used to make money in free enterprise. That is not the case for liberals in general.

Therefore studies that do not include scientists employed at laboratories for companies like Pepsi, ExxonMobil, Intuitive Surgical, and ConAgra do not accurately represent the political spectrum.

Another factor is that liberals tend to use political views as a criteria for evaluating new hires while conservatives in science generally do not. Furthermore, conservative scientists do not feel a need to make a statement about their political views. They are content to quietly work their magic without notoriety. Many liberal leaning scientists intertwine their politics with their life's works and are subsequently more visible.

And the majority voted for Obama. Thank you.

Not the ones with the money and the brains. Thank you.

BTW...your ridiculous source was completely debunked. Thank you again.

Millions of scientists? Millions? Are you sure you didn't mean "gazillions"?

You are just making shit up. 97% of scientists believe in evoluion. The vast majority are atheist. They believe in education and don't hate minorities. You can be a liberal and work in the "free market". Bill Gates taught us that. You just want Republicans to matter so much, you make up facts to support your determined delusions. Every scientist in the US could stand in front of you and when 94% say they aren't Republican, you still wouldn't believe it.

Curious, are you saying the US News and World Report, Los Alamos Monitor, CBS and NPR are "ridiculous sources"?
