Seriously...What is The Deal with Abortion?

The abortion issue affects a microscopic percentage of the American public. So far less than one percent that it is virtually un-measurable. And if abortions were totally outlawed (which in Latin one might refer to as the status quo ante - the way things used to be), MOST of the affected women would merely and painlessly change their reproductive behavior to adapt. Aside from rape, there is no reason for any woman to become pregnant in this country, if she actually does not want to get pregnant. And certainly, organizations like Planned Parenthood would make contraception, sterilization, and meaningful advice available to all. The result of an absolute ban on abortions would be a couple thousand "unwanted babies" each year in our nation of more than 330 million - babies for whom adoptive homes could be easily found.

And yet any threat to the Court-given and totally illegitimate "right to abortion" is treated as though it is a threat to ALL WOMEN, and indeed to ALL AMERICANS!

This is bullshit, on steroids.

What is the Real Reason for the hysteria about this matter? Is it just a fundraising tool for Democrats? Do Democrats really suppose that the female population is too stupid and careless to react appropriately to restrictions (or a ban) on abortions?
If abortions were no big deal and it only affects a microscopic percentage...abortions would never have become the law or they would have been outlawed a long time ago.

And, the way things used to be...were backroom abortions resulting in multiple deaths. Heck, even the great Ronald Reagan knew that...As Governor of California, Reagan signed into law the Therapeutic Abortion Act in May 1967 in an effort to reduce the number of "back room abortions" performed in California.

It took a long time for conservatives (even after years of bluster) to even get to this point in our abortion debates where they may have a chance of victory. But it will be a victory like the prohibition laws. Once the public finds out how restrictive the old days were, it will be quickly repealed.

So, yeah, let the fight begin. Ultimately, the conservatives will be proven to be (as in a host of other things) on the wrong side of history.

And you think the massive increase in teenage pregnancies since the 1950's is an example of 'working', do you? You're as sick as Moonbat is.
There were teenage pregnancies in the 1850's.

Women have been having abortions for thousands of years, whether legal or illegal – there’s nothing new about unwanted pregnancies.

And laws ‘banning’ abortion won’t change that fact.

lol commie psycho baby killer tries to babble some sort of Teachable Moment.

There you go, I knew that was coming! It's not about the child, it's really about demonizing women for having the audacity to want the same freedom as men. Now you can go back to your boys-will-boys smirkfest and tell women to hold an aspirin between their legs.
What, are you twelve?

It's really about wanting people to be responsible for their actions. Grow the fuck up and do it now before someone comes into your life who actually has the power to teach you a real lesson in being an adult.

It’s really about you being an asshole
Women have had unplanned pregnancies since there have been women.
You demonize women for getting pregnant with no responsibility from the men

Yep, I damn sure do. Women are smarter than men and should, therefore, bear more responsibility. Women can reason. Men are simply caveman thugs with uncontrollable dicks.

Ultimately the loudest pro-abortion folks don't really care about 'rights' per se. Most of the folks out in the wild don't even really understand the concept of Individual liberty. And certanly possess no functional grasp of the proper role of government.

They're largely interested in as much federal jurisdiction in any matter that they can possibly achieve.

Ultimately they're opposed to state Republics having the majority of authority over the federal Republic, as the Founders intended.

See Federalist #51 for a better understanding of the nature of our 'compound Republic'. Or for just casual reading. Whichever...
