The inflation reduction act (AKA boost inflation act) gave the IRS more funding to audit tips. Kamala was the tie breaking vote. So it seems though Kamala wants to make sure tips are taxed to the fullest as opposed to not taxed. The Biden/Harris administration had FOUR years to decide their tax policy and that's what they settled on.

I personally don't agree with giving a break to people who get tips. A vast majority of job positions that get tips aren't exactly difficult jobs. Why should they get this benefit over workers who will never get tips (such as a construction worker) and have a more difficult and demanding jobs?
