It seems you have personal interest in all of this. Sorry for you or your relatives, but Katzndogs stated everything perfectly well - why should these investors be bailed out and others - not?

They calculated wrong, they lost, they will have to pay.

All those retirees have SS left and should have thought about other methods as well.
If not - they will have food stamps and welfare in addition,if needed.

If it weren't for the socialist programs such as social security and medicare, some of you people would probably be saddled with taking care of your older family members. You maybe should be thanking whatever god you pray to for socialism.

Detroit can't be fixed. Any city that is 90% black is doomed. How can you have a modern city when most of the residents are illiterate and on welfare.?

Abandon detroit and let the residents go somewhere else.

I support SS too but the problem is it is obviously unconstitutional. Nowhere does the big C give the federal govt authority to set up any sort of welfare system and that means, by the tenth amendment, it is a state matter. We need a constitutional amendment to make SS legal.

First, social security and medicare did not take Detroit down. Corruption and the welfare state that made poverty comfortable did that.
