Should Women Be Drafted ?

Of course they should be available for draft. That's not to say they are all capable of combat though. If they meet the standards, sure, if not, then put them in non combat support rolls.

Mixed units do not perform as well as all male units..........why would you put the least best into a situation where lives can be lost?

Or maybe draft according to wealth. Start with the youth of the wealthiest first, getting drafted and trained for combat. Might be a disincentive against war, since our wars since ww2 have been for profit only. This includes the bush family middle east wars.

Enemies within countries can do that.
Women and men can be captured and used as slaves, and sexually abused. If the US was invaded, you think women back home would be safe?
There are many ways to serve beside combat. Women that go through basic or OCS are taught to defend them themselves and how to use arms.
Women have gone into combat situations and have a right to defend their country and their fellow servicemen.
Not every position requires a 100 lb pack for 12hr or more a day.
Women have lead armies, we have women generals, we have women in the field now.

If women are drafted, they will be put where they can do the most good. Maybe combat, maybe support.

What part of that post escaped you.....we are talking about a P.O.W. held for years who will possibly give birth to a child or more than one.......it adds a new layer of complication to war fighting that doesn't need to be there....

Actually, the inconvenient fact that women get pregnant and have babies is a valid question to raise, whether it is conception via rape or not. As far as the draft thing goes, I mean. Will the mother of a 2 year old or a 6 month old get drafted? What do you do with the kid? How does Israel handle it?
