But possibly it MIGHT be --the law of justification and a jury able to perceive the validity of that claim and willing to act accordingly.

There is always the hope that true justice will prevail but this is most definitely a case involving race issues and whether Zimmerman's has money or not, the perception that whites have more money than blacks gives him an immediate advantage. But as you say, hopefully the jury will be able to cut through that crap.
