Socialism is an A+ plan

There is no modern sense of socialism, you moron. Portugal is a welfare state.
I know you are a brainwashed functional Cold War dinosaur. It is a welfare state just like every modern country is and many who are not modern --it's intelligent and it is socialist in the modern sense-- everywhere but super dupe GOP America.
There is no modern sense of what socialism is. Your are just posting about your ignorance of what socialism is.
The Frankfurt Declaration took a stand against both capitalism and the Communism of Stalin:

Socialism aims to liberate the peoples from dependence on a minority which owns or controls the means of production. It aims to put economic power in the hands of the people as a whole, and to create a community in which free men work together as equals... Socialism has become a major force in world affairs. It has passed from propaganda into practice. In some countries the foundations of a Socialist society have already been laid. Here the evils of capitalism are disappearing... Since the Bolshevik revolution in Russia, Communism has split the International Labour Movement and has set back the realisation of socialism in many countries for decades. Communism falsely claims a share in the Socialist tradition. In fact, it has distorted that tradition beyond recognition. It has built up a rigid theology which is incompatible with the critical spirit of Marxism... Wherever it has gained power it has destroyed freedom or the chance of gaining freedom...

— The Frankfurt Declaration, 1951

The three stages of the definition of socialism...
1 Marxist ideology proved wrong.
2. The USSR brand of socialism, which turned out to be a dictator scam, no democracy at all.
3 see above
This is just more of the same kind of bullshit Bernie Sanders is trying to peddle. Notice that none of the con men trying to sell the false idea of democratic socialism tell how they plan to bring all the goodies they promise. Socialists want to take over the market economy and those who support a welfare state do not. If you were able to muster a little healthy scepticism when ready drivel like the Frankfort Declaration you wouldn't post such nonsense.
As if France and Scandinavia and Australia New Zealand are taking over their economies. They just have a living wage Health Care daycare paid parental leave cheap college. You are a brainwashed functional morons, perfect fools Of the greedy idiot rich. We are the richest country in the world and the only one without all that stuf and for that matter an ID card to end illegal immigration, great vacations and infrastructure. But we have the biggest yachts now- you people are idiots....
They are not socialist economies, they are welfare states. If you were able to read the Frankfurt Declaration you posted, or were able to understand it, you would understand it says socialist states don't have market economies and the states you list do.

Bernie and all the other socialists in the modern world. Idiot. And the social Democrats and progressives and liberals and Democrats. You are a cold war dinosaur. It's over, we won. Communism is so done. Socialists in other countries took the Frankfurt declaration pretty damn seriously. There were far from communists. Change the channel.
lol You may be the stupidest person on this board.

just well regulated market economies that's all. Yes you are brainwashed.

Colleges are Liberal? Why do they charge so much?
for one thing they don't have the competition of cheap college public universities etc since Reagan.

Sure they do. UMASS is much less expensive than Tufts.
They used to be almost free before reaganism.

Before I was born? Why didn’t Clinton or Obama normalize the costs? 16 yrs?
They couldn't, obstruction is easy. Cutting taxes and services is easy. C GOP reconciliation rule and GOP filibuster rule.

Couldn’t? Why not? 16 combined years!!!!

All together, they had 34 days in session of 60 votes in the Senate and passed Obamacare, the greatest thing that happened to the non Rich since Medicare, brainwashed functional moron.

You’re moving the goal posts. We are discussing tuition costs. Ad Hominems is all you got. Super Duper. And you know who profited the most from ACA? The insurance companies.

or one thing they don't have the competition of cheap college public universities etc since Reagan.

As you know, the skyrocketing cost of college is a result of easier and easier loans being made available. Further, there are no restrictions on loans. Spend an easy $50,000 getting a Masters Degree in Middle Age Musical Instruments and then they can't figure out why they're responsible for a $50,000 debt.

As you know too, it had nothing to do with the great President Ronald Reagan.

College isn't right for all people. A much more cost-effective method, if you wish to obtain a college degree, is going to a Community College for two years and transferring to a four-year school. Working full time or more in the Summer and at least part-time during the school year.

This is my maximum of one response per day to our resident Troll.

Yes let's make it as difficult as possible so opportunity sucks. Great job GOP. College cost four times as much now etcetera etcetera and there is no cheap college since Reagan...

Meaning make it affordable.

Ask any socialists in any modern country what a socialist is, dingbat dupe. Nazis and Communists of course claim to be socialists, but you have to be democratic. So what do you Republican idiots have against living wage Health Care daycare paid parental leave great vacations and infrastructure cheap college and training for opportunity, ID card to end illegal immigration? Like every single rich country but us has? Brainwashed functional morons...
You rant and rave but you are so profoundly ignorant, it is impossible for you to make sense.

As you know, it doesn't matter to francoHFW. Facts, lies, misinformation, it is all the same to him. He simply wants to stir the pot, sit back and watch the fun.

That's not true. If students behave responsibly in choosing a college and managing expenditures, the debt will be manageable.

Tufts is $70k per year. That’s manageable? UMASS is $30k.

College is affordable for everyone now.

No, it is not. Easy loans and grants have made it easy for all schools to raise their tuitions, build more building, and then raise the tuitions again. Supply and demand. If the cash had not been so easily available, tuitions would have stayed low. Everyone succumbed to the fake notion that everyone needs a college degree to be successful.

How much is available from financial aid? How much does the university have available from it's endowment to assist needy students? Here are the numbers for Princeton:

Financial Aid by the Numbers
Students admitted to the Class of 2022 who applied for aid with family incomes up to $160,000 typically pay no tuition.

  • Approximately 60 percent of undergraduates receive financial aid.
  • An estimated 173 million in grant funds will be awarded to over 3,100 undergraduates in 2018-19.
  • The average grant for the Class of 2022 was $53,100, which covers 100 percent of Princeton tuition.
  • For families making up to $65,000 per year, the aid package covers full tuition, residential college fee, room and board.
  • 20 percent of students in the Class of 2022 receive Federal Pell Grants.
  • For the Class of 2021, 100 percent of families making up to $180,000 per year qualified for financial aid.
  • In the last decade, the amount of our average need-based grant increased by more than 90 percent, about twice as much as the amount of tuition increases for the same period.
  • 82 percent of recent seniors graduated debt free. For seniors who borrowed, the average total indebtedness at graduation was $9,000.
