Tennessee governor taunts California after 2 more companies move corporate offices to TN

If one can clear 60 grand and no debt one might be able to make a go of it in TN.

The issue is Nashville. Making 60 grand per year you'll be renting or maybe a townhouse.

A house in a good area you'll need a minimum of 75K with gold plated credit.

A house in a great area you'll need a minimum of 120K with gold plated credit.

You can move to Memphis, Knoxville, or Chattanooga, but you'll need Kevlar wall paper.

Tri-cities is good but you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone that knows the definition of IT.

Can't you just live anywhere and do it?

.

If the real reason for moving is taxes, why didn't Mitsubishi move to Nevada? Zero is much less than 8% or 6%.

If you had spent 4 minutes thinking about it -- you could have answered that yourself.. First of all, state income tax in Tenn IS ZERO... There is a "Hall tax" that taxes non-retirement investment income that's not tax deferred, but it's effect is minimal for most..

The reason why not Nevada is that I don't think Mitsubishi sees the synergy of having a North America HQs in Las Vegas or Reno... Doesn't LOOK good on the letterhead.

And Pahrumph has too whore houses to be savory.. You're correct that there is SYNERGY since TN has stolen so much auto manufacturing from other states. And the bulk of it is in Middle TN or Chattanooga.. That DOES play a part here because the skill sets for auto Hqs operations is readily available.

There are two reasons:

1) Dirt cheap labor.

2) The proximity of Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance.

These are executive, accounting, engineering, sales jobs for an HQ.. NOT manufacturing or semi-skilled.. And they are NOT "dirt cheap" salaries.. Like I said, in the areas where the big companies have located the average community income is around $130K.. But it's STILL cheaper than Cali by far for the same quality of labor (maybe better) and their employees can afford 3 times the home at half or less of the price as in Cali...

Indeed their employees CANNOT FIND communities and home situations like these ANYWHERE in Cali that they could afford EVEN with the Cali salaries... Once they SEE the schools and the communities, there's no problem with maybe a SLIGHTLY lower salary...

And the good thing is -- with all the new Japanese/Korea execs moving in -- we can get QUALITY shushi, sashimi, korean BBQ like nowhere else in the USA... :113:

The issue was corporate tax.

Cost of Living Comparison Between Las Vegas, NV, United States And Nashville, TN, United States

But we're not talking about Nashville for ALL of this transplanted business.. It's happening in the suburbs of Nashville.. Where there is ample ROOM for development.. Something that Cali DOES NOT HAVE and would screw up if they did...

A GREAT house in a GREAT community around Nashville only requires about $75K per year.. Go look at Maury, Wilson, Rutherford or Williamson counties on MListingService and you'll see...

Lord please make me STFU... I can see the never ending snowflakes queing up at our borders...

At this rate they will catch up to Cali's GDP by the year 3535 :21::21::21::21:

So why do people have to live and shit in the streets
in the 'Golden shower" state. HMMMM? What's your answer? libs don't give a damn about the homeless living on their doorstep they just step over them and "Move On"

Well to avoid hurting the middle class, a modest corporate tax is not a bad trade-off against NO State Income tax... Taxing EVERYTHING that has money in it's pockets is just a dead end game...

Tennessee is also 34th in per capita income. They are offering cheap wages in which the workers get very little and the companies make out like bandits.

And once again what's the difference in Tennessee burger basket plate @ $8 bucks (with a minimum wage of $7.25 an hour)

Then Colorado's $12 dollar burger plate (with a minimum wage of $11.10 an hour)

????????

.
still about an hour's worth of labor.

A person over the border can walk across to Wyoming from Colorado and save $4 bucks (Wyoming minimum wage is $7.25)

.
a national minimum wage can solve that issue.

You don't understand how corporate America works. Mitsubishi is moving to join Renault and Nissan alliance (crap, crap, and more crap) to drive wages down and probably merge offices in time. They are banking that most California employees don't transfer because those that are hired in Tennessee are brought in at far less wage. With the wages that Mitsubishi is going to pay one would have an hour commute each way to work with snow and ice and tornado's. Good luck this season, tornado season is going to be rough.

Nevada doesn't have a corporate tax and the middle class isn't being hurt.

The middle class in this country has already been hurt. Republicans and Corporate America have done a great job.

And you don't understand that's a theory... These are CORPORATE offices.. Not a place where wages are skimped on...

And the other thing you don't understand is -- and I've told you to go look at MLS real estate listings -- once that Cali employee SEES the housing/education/recreation opportunities and how much they are gonna save on mortgage and taxes -- they'd TAKE a cut to move here and be all the better for it....

Why vote blue when it's a known fact that Democrats are anti worker. Democrats want to keep the American people poor, pissed off and dependent on government

Yes, but not many taco stands are the size of Mitsubishi or Nissan...dumbass.
They are not Californians you can have the.. we do American made cars we are Patriots ;p

WTF, how about saying something that resembles English. As far as American made cars, which ones are actually made in America? If you come up with anything...you better check again.

nobody takes the right wing seriously about economics.

higher paid labor pays more in taxes and creates more in demand.
