The teacher chose to read out loud, to grade school children, one page that describes her curiosity about her friends genitalia, and wanting to compare them.

Of course The Diary of Anne Frank was never directly about imprisonment, murder and death camps. How could it be?

This may come as a shock to you, but the Nazis did not permit teenage girls to keep diaries in their death camps.

Plus, she was kinda busy dying of overwork and disease and watching her older sister die in front of her.

And the scene in question was simply Anne asking a friend to compare breasts(not “genitals”). Her friend said no. No impressionable teenagers were exposed to (gasp) cartoon drawings of boobies.

From what I can tell, it wasn't the actual diary of Anne Frank (a work that some claim to be a hoax in the first place). I'm reading that it was an illustrators "adaptation" of the supposed work. So I can see how that might cause a problem.

The fact that you even entertain the notion that the diary is a hoax says all one needs to know about you.

“Entertaining a notion” and making a hard-and-fast claim are two, different things. Were you present when the diary was written? If not, then there's room for the possibility that it was a fabrication. I have no personal reason to believe that it isn't authentic but, then, I really don't give a hoot one way or the other.

Diaries from the camps have survived, though whether Anne continued to write is unknown.
